While the Federal Government held various high-speed, high-efficiency meetings about the issuance of currency, the Federal Savings Bank's Board of Directors was also holding a board meeting.
Or a Board of Directors meeting—either way, it meant the same thing.
The Federal Savings Bank had many board members, and every one of them wore a worried expression as they sat there.
The lawsuit was difficult to deal with. Even with a lavish legal team, it would be hard to handle a Chief Justice whose judgment had already been skewed.
Interfering with judicial fairness was far too damn easy for the people in the Department of Justice. All they had to do was forbid your lawyers from asking a few key questions, and you would lose the case!
So every board member understood clearly that the chances of winning were basically zero.

"I mean, what if—what if we completely fell out with them?"
"The Federal Government hasn't realized what it's doing yet. If we really fell out with them and made them understand how terrible the consequences of their actions would be, perhaps they would change their minds."
One board member voiced his opinion. Since they were being forced to bow their heads anyway, they might as well lie flat on the ground.
A permanent director asked, "What exactly do you mean by falling out with them?"
The director who had raised the idea thought seriously for several more seconds before answering, "Suspend all kinds of Federal Sol business, issue an announcement to inform the International Community of the abnormal fluctuations, and suspend the international settlement services of all the banks."
As the issuing bank of the Federal Sol, the Federal Savings Bank had the authority to do this.
But the other directors looked at him as if he had gone
