The next morning, the doorbell rang early.

A postman from the postal service stood outside the yard, pushing a small cart. There were also some community workers with him.

"What are all these?" Lin Qi had gotten up early to finish his morning exercises. He casually picked up the top box and glanced at it.

Lin Qi's name was written on it, along with the sender's name: Penny.

Lin Qi suddenly understood. Although the people of the Federation had no custom of "paying New Year's visits," they still gave each other gifts to express their feelings.

People who lived farther away would mail their New Year's gifts in advance. Those who lived closer—for example, in the same city as the recipient—would mail them on the last day of the previous year to ensure they arrived on January 1.

Of course, personally delivering gifts was also a good option, but that limited the number of people one could visit. Therefore, most people still chose to have the post office and postmen deliver them.

Penny was still in Bu Peien and had not left. She could have delivered the gift herself, yet she had still sent it through the postman.

Besides Penny's gifts, there were also Catherine's, Vera's, and a large number from various individuals and companies who had business dealings with Lin Qi.

Sometimes, being a "big shot" was rather interesting. Setting aside the burden of work and other such matters, simply receiving all kinds of gifts during the holidays could put one in an excellent mood.

After having the postmen carry everything into the house, Lin Qi casually opened several gifts from the girls. Most contained small pastries wrapped up in packages, especially cookies.
