Faced with this unexpected encounter, the people on both sides of the stone bridge froze.
Then, Mo Jia heard waves of surprised exclamations rise from across the bridge.
"Hey! Is this for real? Someone already got here before us?"
"Didn't we just finish clearing out the low-level monsters outside? We should have all entered at roughly the same time."
"Could this be some thief girl? Only someone like that could have sneaked in before the monsters were cleared out."
"No! She looks like an elf!"
Noticing Mo Jia's pointed ears, the crowd across from her immediately quieted down somewhat. Though the light was dim, they no longer dared make any offensive remarks.
After all, everyone knew that the Elf race were natural masters of magic. Even young, underage elves were at least Silver Tier among adventurers. Most of those present were Black Iron Tier or Bronze Tier, so naturally, none dared casually offend a powerful person.
Mo Jia swiftly pulled up her hood and tugged its brim down to conceal most of her face. She said coldly, "You are blocking my way out. Is there something you want?"
"N-No! Absolutely not, Miss Elf!" the man who seemed to be the leader hurriedly said.
"Then move aside," Mo Jia said arrogantly, as if a noble standing above the common rabble were issuing an order.
That commanding tone made the group instinctively clear a path. But just then, Mo Jia heard a startled voice from within the crowd. "It's you?"
Hearing the somewhat familiar voice, Mo Jia turned and saw Breton, captain of the Steel Blade Adventurers' Guild, staring fixedly at her.
"Breton? You know this Miss Elf?" someone beside him asked. Clearly, this group was a temporary alliance cobbled together from several adventuring guilds—a common sight during the early stages of
