Ivette had imagined her journey across the Western Continent as a quiet one. She would become a solitary traveler, crossing this land shrouded in poisonous miasma and overrun by monsters alone, listening to the fine patter of acid rain against her umbrella as she walked and rested, before finally weathering a few twists and turns and reuniting with her students.
But unexpectedly, the moment she left the starting town, a large group of people appeared behind her. All sorts of commotion had never stopped along the way. She did not know whether to call it noisy or lively.
Still, that was fine, she thought. After all, this trip would most likely involve "attacking" Riftback City. And once she took Riftback City, she would certainly have to take over its operations. At the very least, she would need to establish a church outpost and train some priests. At that point, followers like Bobo would come in handy.
They set off in the morning, and before long, it was noon. After hurrying through the pale yellow mist for half a day, Ivette saw that her subordinates were growing tired. She announced a rest in a clearing within the woods, prompting everyone to breathe a sigh of relief.
Then, just as their midday break ended and they were preparing to set off again, a middle-aged-looking Beast Demon with bull horns came jogging over and said anxiously, "Witch, someone's missing!"
Ivette raised her brows slightly. "Who?"
The Beast Demon said, "Wedge. He's a young bull clansman. He said he was going to relieve himself, and then he vanished. We searched the area where he went several times, but we couldn't find any trace of him. We think he might have gone the wrong way—"
"What do you mean, went the wrong way?" Bobo sneered
