Hearing that Ian was finally going to use his Alter Ego, Sheo, who had been asked to help long ago, looked thrilled. Clenching her fists, she said earnestly, "I'll do my best!"
"Please don't. Just lower your presence." Ian was somewhat speechless, but since it was Sheo, it was only natural. "I won't say much else. I'm disguising myself as Mahdi to do something extremely dangerous, something connected to the Xenobiology Research Institute's deepest secret... So if you run into me later, do not come near me. Not even a prophet might be able to protect you."
"To be honest, I might not even be able to protect myself."
This was the plain truth from Ian's heart. He knew full well that, despite all the measures he had prepared to conceal himself, Mahdi's identity was merely "harder to see through"... Not to mention that the true danger was never his disguise being exposed, but the immense crisis brought by the Immovable Fortress and the Silver Chip.
The danger inherent in those two identities did not care whether their bearer was Ian or Mahdi. Once exposed, at the very least, a peak Third Energy Level expert would come knocking—and even Fourth or Fifth Energy Level beings might personally arrive.
"But will this identity really work?"
Anfa's words from the side were not particularly pleasant, but she did raise a very realistic concern out of genuine worry. "That Elge just now... I'll assume he was Elge. It seemed like he could see through your unusual nature, Ian, without using any means at all."
"If we don't figure out exactly what he saw through, Mahdi's identity will be exposed at a glance!"
"That's true. But it's not a major problem."
Ian nodded and said thoughtfully, "That 'Elge's' real identity is even more
