Sun Zhenbang racked his brains. "Could they have been taking drugs or drinking, suffered hallucinations, and accidentally killed one another?"
The forensic examiner shook his head. "We tested their stomachs. There wasn't a trace of drugs or alcohol, which means their actions should have taken place while they were fully conscious."
They were human traffickers. They sought money, not lives.
Even if there had been some friction among them, leading to arguments and disagreements, they couldn't possibly have resorted to killing. And even if they had, the traces of the struggle shouldn't have been this horrifying.
Judging from the marks left by their wounds, the three men looked as though they had a blood feud, having reached the point where only death could end it.
