Sure enough, the Black Giant Wolf did not seem content to roam outside the Invisible Barrier like the other beasts. Instead, it seemed to sense the barrier and harbored fierce hostility toward the Invisible Barrier formed by the Altar.
After lingering outside for only a moment, it raised a massive paw and attacked the Invisible Barrier.
The enormous paw, dozens of meters across, slammed into the Invisible Barrier, sending ripples like waves across it.
Again and again, without pause.
The Invisible Barrier began to shake.
It looked as though the Black Giant Wolf's claws might tear it apart at any moment.
Li Yun's face darkened.
Now he understood.
The Invisible Barrier formed by the Altar was not truly indestructible. If the Black Giant Wolf kept attacking, it would eventually break through.
If the Black Giant Wolf got in, he himself would be fine, but Snow Woman and the other two might not survive.
And if other beasts came out of the thick fog, he could never protect all three of them alone. The slightest mishap would cost them their lives.
What could he do?
The Invisible Barrier could not be allowed to break.
He had to drive off the Black Giant Wolf and strengthen the Invisible Barrier at the same time.
"Huh..."
Thoughts raced through Li Yun's mind. He glanced instinctively at the Altar.
He noticed a faint light flickering around it, as though the Black Giant Wolf's assault on the Invisible Barrier was draining its energy faster.
That was clearly bad news.
But Li Yun suddenly wondered: if the Black Giant Wolf's attacks were draining the Altar's energy, could he replenish it himself?
By ordinary logic, if he supplied the Altar with more energy, wouldn't the Invisible Barrier it produced grow stronger?
