"Yes!"
Li Yun straightened, still looking somewhat nervous.
In the eyes of the two Half-Step Ancestors, that made him seem even more pathetic.
At that,
both Half-Step Ancestors looked utterly disdainful.
"My lords... the Cloudslayer Association is a small organization dedicated to hunting down Li Yun. Our leader is..."
"All right, all right... enough. No need to go on."
Before Li Yun could name the Cloudslayer Association's leader, the two Half-Step Ancestors impatiently cut him off.
"Spare us your leader's name. He's a nobody, and we don't care."
"Now tell us... since you're hunting Li Yun, do you have any news of him? What clues have you found?"
"Uh..."
Li Yun looked embarrassed.
"My lords, none..."
"That Li Yun is too cunning. I've searched for a long time, but I still haven't found a trace of him."
Both Half-Step Ancestors wore expressions that said they had expected as much.
"You useless fools should give up while you're ahead. A Heavenly Constant Sage like you would have a hard enough time finding Li Yun. Even if you did, you'd be serving yourself up on a platter."
With that,
the two chuckled and cast Li Yun a disdainful glance.
Then they shot away.
In the blink of an eye, they vanished without a trace.
Only then did Li Yun let out a long breath.
Truth be told, controlling his aura before two Half-Step Ancestors so that he gave away nothing at all had put him under tremendous pressure.
Fortunately, the two had looked down on him from the start and had barely given him a proper glance. Otherwise, the pressure would have been even greater.
If they had been determined to investigate him, he had no confidence he could have fooled them.
Still, Li Yun felt rather fortunate about this chance encounter.
