The Primordial Land was gone, leaving nothing but emptiness. There was no point in Li Yun going back.
He turned and headed for the exit to Blue Star.
By then, Black Wolf had gone far away.
Only then did Li Yun cautiously step out of the Gate of Myriad Wonders.
He put away the Gate of Myriad Wonders and, without hesitation, headed in the opposite direction from Black Wolf.
Only now did Li Yun once again realize just how hard it was to be an ordinary person.
Deep in the mountains and forests, he could not tell which way to go.
He also had to watch for wild beasts that might spring out at any moment.
He walked on trembling with fear, as though treading on thin ice.
After barely an hour, Li Yun felt tired and hungry, and his mouth was so dry it might as well have been smoking.
Then he came upon the Little Valley.
A stream babbled through it, its water so clear he could see fish swimming beneath the surface.
Several peach trees grew beside the stream, laden with pink peaches. He could smell their fragrance from far away.
Li Yun's mouth watered at once.
He let out an excited shout and ran forward. Bending down, he drank several mouthfuls from the stream. The water was astonishingly sweet, and he could not get enough of it.
Only then did he pick a few peaches and start eating.
One bite of their tender, juicy flesh nearly moved Li Yun to tears.
He ate thirteen peaches in a row before patting his belly and burping, his face full of unmistakable satisfaction.
Once he had eaten and drunk his fill, Li Yun connected with the Gate of Myriad Wonders again.
The Light Curtain reappeared in his mind.
