New York.
At the Disaster Countermeasures Bureau headquarters, Nathan spoke into the phone. "Director Thomson, thank you. Dinner's on me next time."
"Don't mention it. It was nothing. But Cobb and his team's dream-stealing ability is rather unusual. Mr. Vice President, you can't let them use it domestically, or we'll have a real problem."
Director Thomson was the director of the FBI, which handled the warrant for Cobb's arrest.

"If they weren't washed up, I wouldn't dare investigate them."
Newman smiled, and Nathan laughed as well. This was what he liked most about her: she understood the bigger picture and wouldn't act recklessly. She was an excellent administrator.
"The second matter."
Newman continued, "Regarding the people of Europe collectively thanking the Director of S.W.O.R.D., we sent people to investigate thoroughly, but we haven't found any useful leads.
"Everyone has forgotten what happened in their dreams.
