In the blink of an eye, Christmas and New Year passed one after another. Time arrived in February 2022. After going through all sorts of holidays, New York's residents gradually eased up and returned to their usual routines of work and shopping.
After several months of population loss, New York's population had gradually begun to stabilize. This was undoubtedly good news for the authorities; they did not want New York City to become an abandoned city.
Most disasters in this world erupted in New York, so people elsewhere did not feel much of a sense of crisis. This was somewhat different from other universes.
"New Yorkers really are unlucky. I had my mother move to Texas, and I bought a farm over there."
Starlight Annie sighed to Andrew. She had finally gotten a day off today and asked Andrew out shopping. She had originally wanted to watch a movie with him as well, but Andrew refused on the grounds that he had "recently been cursed, and entering a movie theater would cause a disaster."
What a joke. Andrew did not want to watch ten hours of movies in a row again, especially not the same one.
Andrew smiled. "You bought a farm? I never expected you to be a little rich lady."
"Vought International may not be much, but it really makes money. I'm not like A-Train, spending money like water every day. Saving money is normal."
Annie shrugged and said, "However, after Madelyn took office, Vought International improved quite a bit. Unfortunately, two more bad groups have appeared: Future Group and Amusement Park Group. What they do is just like what Vought International used to do.
"Sometimes, I really want to expose them. I can control surveillance cameras through electrical currents now, so I'm considered a top-tier hacker."
