God did not answer Malebolgia. Bruce shouted, "In New York, I'm God! Even with all those demons, you don't scare me!"

With that, Bruce raised both hands. Countless meteors appeared in the sky, trailing long tails of light as they tore through the air and hurtled toward Malebolgia and the Demon Army.

"Nice ability."

Van Helsing's eyes lit up at the sight. He blew the Angel Horn, and countless angels appeared in the sky. Then they transformed into streams of holy flame and attached themselves to the meteors, increasing both their power and their lethality against demons.

The citizens were stunned by the meteor attack at first, then broke into cheers. With God on their side this time, surely they could win?

Facing the meteors Bruce had summoned, Malebolgia gave a contemptuous smile. A swarm of fist-sized bugs flew out of his body, then transformed into terrifying mouths that swallowed every last meteor.

"How is that possible? That isn't remotely scientific!"

Bruce stared, dumbfounded. Meteors with such tremendous momentum, blazing hot and even enhanced by holy flame, had been swallowed by a swarm of bugs—and the bugs hadn't even been pushed back?

"You're God. Why are you talking about science?"

Van Helsing snarked. The viewers nodded in wholehearted agreement. God's very existence was unscientific!

The bugs' attack did not end with swallowing the meteors. They transformed into highly unstable, explosive fireballs and hurtled toward Bruce and Van Helsing.

Bruce's expression changed. He hurriedly used his ability to transport the fireballs above the Pacific Ocean. To his surprise, they returned a second later and continued hurtling toward the two of them.

Bruce looked bewildered. Why had his ability failed? Realization stirred in Van Helsing's mind, and the twelve wings on his back expanded wildly, wrapping around himself and Bruce.
