"How about little buddy, then?"
Andrew blinked as he asked. Kai was so furious that smoke practically came out of his nostrils. "Don't run away. Once I've dealt with this fellow, I'll come over and have a nice, long chat with you."
"Why would I run when there's such a good show to watch?"
Andrew smiled. Earlier had been his most dangerous moment. He hadn't developed any qi yet, and though he was an exceptional fighter, facing Kai would have meant certain death.
Technique was useful, but when the gap in physical ability was too great, even the best technique was useless. The old saying that brute strength could overcome any skill wasn't merely sensible—it was absolutely right.
Now, things had changed. In that short time, Andrew had successfully acquired qi. Even if he couldn't defeat Kai, escaping wouldn't be a problem.
