Hughie was silent for a while before saying coldly, "I won't deny that your life is inspirational, but do you think telling me all this will make me forget my hatred and let you go?"

A-Train let out a breath and said, "If I die by your hand, I believe the Disaster Countermeasures Bureau will treat my family well. But if I betray humanity, everything my family has now will disappear.
"The Disaster Countermeasures Bureau won't let my family keep enjoying themselves. They'll be sent back to the slums to live hopeless lives again.
"So I stayed, Hughie. Let's make a deal."
Hughie snorted, his voice filled with Killing Intent. "We have nothing to discuss. I will kill you."

A-Train said, "What I mean is, I'll kill myself in exchange for you treating my family well and protecting them. My inheritance is simply too large; they won't be able to hold on to it."
