Machine Conqueror Kang flew into a rage. To him, this was clearly Ray Conqueror Kang choosing outright betrayal. He immediately activated all of the Matrix robot's functions and shouted, "They're traitors! Kill them!"
At his words, the other Conqueror Kangs intensified their attacks, no longer holding back against the traitors.
"What's going on?"
Ray Conqueror Kang was both shocked and furious. He hadn't deployed the Slowing Device. He hadn't even intended to kill Machine Conqueror Kang, so why would he use his trump card?
The problem was that Ray Conqueror Kang couldn't explain anything to Machine Conqueror Kang, for one simple reason: the other man would never believe him. What kind of joke was this? It was his trump card, and he couldn't control it? He was a Conqueror Kang!
Besides, he had his pride. If word got out that he couldn't control his own trump card, how could he ever show his face again?
"The King of Abilities. This has to be the King of Abilities' doing."
Something occurred to Ray Conqueror Kang, and he couldn't help glancing toward God's Domain nearby. The King of Abilities had previously controlled the Slowing Device, then returned it after he surrendered.
Of course, Ray Conqueror Kang wasn't stupid. He had thoroughly inspected the Slowing Device afterward and found nothing.
Ray Conqueror Kang had assumed the King of Abilities hadn't tampered with it. Now he realized it wasn't that the King of Abilities hadn't done anything—he simply hadn't been able to detect what the King of Abilities had done. Damn him!
Now they really were traitors. The Kang Council would never let them off.
