After Indigo left, Luthor worked in his office for over two hours. Then, he got up, drove away from LexCorp, and left.
Inside a Deserted Tunnel, Luthor arranged for a stand-in to drive his car to a scenic area for fishing, while he himself drove an All-Mechanical Car to the Secret Base.
He went to such lengths because he was certain Indigo was secretly monitoring him.
At the Secret Base, Luthor looked at the Kryptonian Clones in the Cloning Tanks and asked the bearded doctor beside him, "Dr. Donovan, how is this batch of clones? Are there any problems?"
"Mr. Luthor."
Dr. Donovan replied, "The results of this cloning round are better than the previous ones. There were no more malformed infants, but these Kryptonian Clones have serious defects. They won't survive for more than a few months. We have too few genetic samples on hand."
"I expected that long ago."
Luthor was not disappointed. He said, "A few months is enough. As long as we turn them into Doomsday, they can overcome those defects and survive."
Luthor had never intended to create Doomsday from Kryptonian corpses. The reason was simple: General Zod had most likely tampered with those corpses.
Luthor planned to use clones to create Doomsday. This had many benefits, such as absolute control and the ability to create large numbers of Doomsdays—the Kryptonian genes came from those two Kryptonian corpses.
Dr. Donovan asked excitedly, "The Doomsday laboratory is ready, Mr. Luthor. When do we begin the experiment?"
"We begin now. Within seven days, we will create Doomsday."
Luthor said, "Seven days from now, this world will be completely different."
