"Ghost Rider, you think you've got me beaten? Your strength is only on par with mine at best."
Trigon roared, "I'll kill you and take back the power that belongs to me."
"Trigon, you know what? These days, beating stronger opponents is all the rage. If you don't fight monsters a few levels above you, you can hardly call yourself the protagonist. With our strength equal, killing you is child's play."
Ghost Rider chuckled and charged at Trigon, slashing both blades at him with a surge of heat powerful enough to burn the heavens and boil the seas.
Trigon hurriedly backed away. Just then, space folded, and the two blades appeared before his chest and slashed down, cutting two enormous wounds that gushed blood.
Ghost Rider pressed his advantage, firing heat vision from his eyes into Trigon's wounds. Trigon screamed and staggered back.
"Ghost Rider!"
Enraged, Trigon blasted an enormous black thunderbolt at Ghost Rider. Ghost Rider did not even dodge. The thunderbolt struck him, but not only did it fail to hurt him, he absorbed every last bit of it.
"Have it back!"
Then Ghost Rider shouted, unleashing black thunderbolts from his entire body and blasting Trigon. Trigon let out an agonized scream, his entire body scorched black and trailing smoke.
Trigon stared at Ghost Rider in disbelief. He had absorbed the Crimson Light Pillar earlier because of the runes. Now that the runes were suppressed, why could he still absorb Trigon's lightning?
Naturally, Ghost Rider did not explain. He swung his blades and attacked again.
Why could Ghost Rider absorb lightning?
Because of Doomsday. Doomsday could evolve without limit. Being burned, for instance, increased his fire resistance. For over a year, Ghost Rider had been helping Doomsday evolve.
He had developed all kinds of resistances, along with the
