Andrew revealed that Mephisto had abandoned the fifty Zombie Demon Kings, then trapped them in a virtual blockade as the heroes and Celestials attacked. While the battle continued, Chthon killed Doctor Strange to prevent Andrew from exploiting his divine power, and the chapter left Andrew overseeing the fight as the Zombie Demon Kings realized they could not escape or defeat Mephisto.

• Sophia demonstrated permanent Ability Transfer and explained that she had changed her approach to fusing Abilities.

The laboratory director began explaining two methods for giving the Replicants Skyfather-level combat strength, starting with stacking.

• Sophia told the elders that DL, a man with Quantumization who served Soldier Boy, was the final ability she needed to create the King of Abilities, and the First Elder planned to replace him with a Transfiguration user.

Meanwhile, Chthon and Death gathered researchers to perfect Doomsday and considered exploiting Vought's plans to spread modified Compound Five across Earth.

• The laboratory director explained that stacking Replicants might create a Skyfather and that a soul-frequency device could let a Replicant take Soldier Boy's body.
• The First Elder ordered research into both methods and decided to plan a direct attack on Soldier Boy, with Homelander's help.
• After researchers began disappearing worldwide, the First Elder sent a few squads to investigate while Chthon's Death Organization continued kidnapping researchers.
• Chthon told Death that he would use Billy to test the Doomsday Gene before using Homelander to create Perfect Doomsday.

• Andrew transformed into DL and arranged for the real DL to be teleported away, despite DL and Soldier Boy warning him not to pursue Nicky.
