Chapter Summaries

The superheroes struggled against the Male MUTO in San Francisco as the nuclear bomb deadline drew near, until Scarlet persuaded King Kong to enter the battle. King Kong attacked the MUTO, while Nick Fury was publicly mocked after footage of a mural portraying his defeat by King Kong aired.

• The Male MUTO battered Doctor Banner's Angry Mecha and the other heroes, while Steve and Susan worried about stealing the nuclear bomb before it exploded.
• Andrew showed San Francisco citizens the battle and warned them that only fifteen minutes remained, prompting many to sign Soul Pacts.
• Scarlet convinced King Kong to fight by claiming Godzilla feared the MUTO, then opened a portal to San Francisco.
• King Kong arrived in San Francisco, grabbed the Male MUTO out of the sky, and repeatedly slammed it into the ground.

Steve and the superheroes found the MUTO eggs and nuclear bomb, while Susan and Gwen carried the bomb away and the others prepared to destroy the eggs. Andrew arrived as Ghost Rider, sent the eggs to Hell, then transformed into a giant of light and overwhelmed both MUTOs.

Ronan seized the Power Stone and joined forces with Black Bolt to defeat Carol, then threatened to destroy Earth. As the Dark Aster approached, Earth’s heroes planned an assault while Carol questioned Nick Fury about Ghost Rider.

• Black Bolt destroyed the Milano with a Vocal Resonance Wave, and Ronan’s forces captured the Guardians and Black Bolt.
