Chapter Summaries

Pierce backed Nick Fury’s plan to expand Project Insight while Tony rescued Stephen Strange from the New York ruins. In Rebirth Hell, Coulson declined resurrection and joined its hair-growth and prosthetics projects, while Andrew assigned Howard to study the Chitauri mothership and learned that Mechanical Life could evolve by consuming powerful metals.

• Nick Fury persuaded Pierce to support completing and expanding Project Insight, and Pierce secured Gideon Malick’s agreement to take the blame before reaffirming his loyalty to Hydra.
• Tony rescued the badly injured Stephen Strange from the rubble and recognized him as a talented surgeon he had met before.
• Coulson learned that a resurrection experiment was bringing him back, but refused to return because he would lose his memories of Hell; Alice exposed his plan to gather intelligence and invited him to join the Hair-Saving Project.

• Scarlet found Andrew and asked him to teach her magic, but he teased her while speaking with Hawkeye's daughter, Lila.
• Natasha contacted Nick Fury and received orders to investigate Colonel Talbot and the Military's dangerous genetic experiments without provoking them.
• Andrew and Hawkeye's group began touring the island, while Natasha followed Talbot to the secret base and listened in through a Wiretap.
• White and Dr. Henry Wu showed Talbot a Rage Rat and the Indominus Rex, then proposed turning dinosaurs into Rampaging Creatures.

• The bald general ordered the American Fleet to attack the pterosaurs, but the Mosasaurus, Tyrannosaurus Rex, and Indominus Rex overwhelmed the ships, and giant White devoured him.
• White led the Dinosaur Legion toward a coastal city in Costa Rica as Roxanne broadcast a warning that the Rampage Dinosaurs were approaching and the American Military might use nuclear weapons.

The Rampage Dinosaurs devastated a coastal city while the superheroes struggled to stop them, and Andrew chose to recruit Scarlet for her magical talent. The chapter ended with Scarlet offering her soul to the Black-Robed Mage in exchange for his help stopping the disaster.

• Steve organized the superheroes’ attack on the Indominus Rex, but their weapons barely hurt it, and a female giant named Claire White destroyed the Quinjet with a boulder.

• Scarlet answered the black-robed figure’s test correctly, signed a Contract giving him her soul, and became his magic apprentice.
• The black-robed figure turned Rumlow’s damaged Battle Suit and Uru Metal into a shrinking suit for Scarlet, tasking her with making it a powerful magical item within three years.
• Andrew drew the terrified public into the Illusion Realm and had most of them sign Soul Pacts as the Rampage Dinosaur overwhelmed the Heroes.
• The black-robed figure knocked the souls out of White and the dinosaurs, then sent them all away through fiery Halos, ending the attack.

• Ivan, Obadiah, and Hydra soldiers attacked Tony and Rhodes in the sky while Erik Seven and Extremis soldiers joined the battle.

The chapter left Tony and Ivan still fighting and Susan’s group preparing to rescue Jonathan.

• Steve and the others found that the captured Hydra soldier had killed himself with poison, while Maya Hansen explained that Killian had weaponized her Extremis Virus.
• Nick Fury called for help as terrorists and paid gang members attacked Miami, and the hijacked broadcast promised another lesson for America.
• Andrew sent Robots to rescue contractors and harvest Soul Pacts while the superheroes prepared to head to Miami.
• Scarlet teleported Steve and most of the Unmanned Armor to Miami, leaving Maya Hansen behind as she agreed to tell Nick Fury what she knew about Killian and the virus.
• On a small island, Ivan trapped Tony with Electric Whips, but Tony used detached suit parts to strike back and pierce Ivan's chest with a Laser.

Tony defeated Ivan Vanko and learned that Hydra was still active, while President Ellis was kidnapped during an ambush. The heroes organized a rescue, but Scarlet revealed she had run out of magic power, leaving them without an easy way to reach the White House for the President’s scent.
