In response to Zhao Tianlei's question, Lei Zhen answered without hesitation, "There's actually nothing much to store in this warehouse. Normally, it served as a centralized refugee camp. Because the apocalypse came so suddenly, the survivor base had not even entered its trial period when large numbers of survivors poured in."
"That resulted in a severe shortage of temporary housing. Some people with status had their accommodations arranged in advance, while others, including lone survivors, were gathered and managed collectively in warehouses like this one. When the base fell, no one knew how many of the survivors in this warehouse had managed to escape."
After hearing Lei Zhen's answer, Zhao Tianlei asked curiously, "Then do you know how many survivors that warehouse held before the base fell?"
Lei Zhen answered without thinking, "By an initial estimate, it should have held nearly five thousand survivors."
Zhao Tianlei couldn't help exclaiming, "Five thousand survivors?"
Lei Zhen added, "Yes. I was responsible for Zone 1 at the time, so I knew the situation here very well. I occasionally led soldiers on patrols around this area. Even if the warehouse didn't hold five thousand people, the number was still roughly around that figure."
After hearing this, Zhao Tianlei said directly, "All right. Since that's the case, we'll go over there and clear out the zombies in the warehouse while we're at it."
Hearing Zhao Tianlei's words, Lei Zhen was startled and hurriedly said, "What? Captain Zhao, are you serious? With fewer than twenty of us, we're going to clear out this many zombies? This isn't a small Zombie Horde. If those zombies attack all at once, they could easily surround us."
Zhao Tianlei smiled faintly. "It's fine. Without trying, how can we know the true situation inside or what the result will be? Regardless,
