With tears in her eyes and her lips pursed, Yuan Miaoping looked at Li Banfeng. "Gang Leader, it wasn't what you thought. I definitely couldn't just turn anyone into a Disease Cultivator. Cui Tike really was a very special person. I chose him because he met the requirements to become a Disease Cultivator."
Li Banfeng carefully wiped the screen. "By meeting the requirements, you mean he had Dao Affinity, right?"
Yuan Miaoping's face was full of admiration. "Gang Leader, how do you know everything? You truly are a godlike man!"
"Was that hard to figure out? Inner Amikan didn't even have the concept of Dao Schools. People with Dao Affinity must have been few and far between. Tell me first, how did Cui Tike get his Dao Affinity?" Li Banfeng carefully wiped away a stain on the screen.
Yuan Miaoping sensed that the wind had shifted and immediately explained, "His Dao Affinity had nothing to do with me. He was frail and sickly from childhood. While his parents were alive, they found plenty of witch doctors to treat him. All those herbs he consumed and all those witchcraft rituals he underwent had long since accumulated enough Dao Affinity for him.
"So I couldn't turn an ordinary person into a Disease Cultivator. I had to specifically find someone who had accumulated enough Dao Affinity but had yet to enter a Dao School. There weren't many such people in Pro State to begin with, and elsewhere, they were impossible to find.
"Besides, the person had to be willing. Cui Tike watched television for days on end. There was no plot, no characters, only a few patterns looping and changing over and over. How could someone unwilling possibly keep watching?"
"So you spent all that effort grooming Cui Tike purely out of sympathy?"
