The plane landed smoothly at Savadi Country International Airport. As they stepped out of the cabin, a gust of air mixed with humid heat and the scent of exotic plants rushed toward them.
The three collected their luggage and, according to plan, prepared to settle in at the hotel they had booked.
Ling Yun looked around. Outside the airport, traffic was bustling, and calls from drivers soliciting passengers rang out in various languages without end.
Their tall, striking appearances and Eastern features immediately attracted plenty of attention—some from curious tourists, others from locals sizing them up.
"Three handsome boys and pretty girls, are you Chinese? Need a ride?"
A warm male voice rang out. Though it carried a strong local accent, his Chinese was exceptionally fluent.
The speaker was a dark-skinned, lean driver. He grinned, revealing a conspicuous gold tooth.
He stood beside a white minibus that looked fairly clean, his eyes sweeping rapidly over the three of them. They paused on Ling Yun's face for a moment longer than the rest.
"Yes! Your Chinese is really good!"
The fatigue from Jiang Yingqing's journey had eased somewhat. Upon hearing that the driver spoke Chinese, her wariness immediately dropped by more than half, and she smiled. "We're going to the Bangkok Bay Holiday Hotel. Sorry for the trouble."
Jiang Yingxue, however, frowned slightly. She instinctively felt uncomfortable with this excessive enthusiasm, especially with the way the gold-toothed driver looked at Ling Yun. It made her feel somewhat greasy. Without thinking, she moved half a step closer to Ling Yun and said nothing.
Ling Yun's calm gaze settled on the driver's face, but his heart tightened.
His keen Spiritual Sense had caught something abnormal.
The instant the driver got a clear look at his face, the man's heartbeat skipped sharply before accelerating.
