Le Yu yanked down the operating lever. Scalding steam billowed from the casing, and the gears and chains filling half a floor began to rumble into motion. A massive black-steel gear drove countless smaller ones, like a monster breathing.
Le Yu seized the moment and tapped away at the keyboard, which had only sixteen keys. The steam monster immediately responded, making a series of beeps and clacks before ejecting a sheet of white paper from its steel belly.
After operating for just ten seconds, the steam monster came to a stop. Le Yu went over and took the paper. A single line was written on it:

"Holy crap!" Le Yu couldn't help praising it.
He was currently on the sixth floor of the Platinum Tower.
