It was as though a Giant lay outside the culture blood, peering inward and staring at everything within.
Beneath that bizarre eye's gaze, every scene resembled a smashed display screen, blooming with brilliant blocks of color and intermittent cracks that flickered without cease.
The game had bugged out. Textures flew everywhere, polygons shifted erratically, collision volumes spun out of control, and piercing noises came one after another.
Compared to the twisted, distorted entire sea, the meteors falling from the sky were no more than a few fireflies. Under that pupil's gaze, they swiftly turned transparent, passed from existence into nothingness, became phantoms, and vanished completely.
In an instant, the lingering glow of dusk burned away, and everything returned to darkness.
BOOM!!!
In the final instant before it vanished, the blazing meteor suddenly shuddered and broke apart, raising a monstrous wave that covered the entire sea in midair.
Violent shockwaves screamed outward in every direction.
Explosion.
Unfortunately, even that force was still insufficient to break the Curtain covering reality. At most, it merely lifted one corner, revealing the hideousness hidden behind the illusion.
Corpses—countless corpses.
Those translucent phantom corpses drifted atop the deathly silent sea, rising and falling. Every soul whose sense of self had been stolen by Dream Loss Syndrome appeared in the sea, carried along by the waves.
As though tugged by an invisible gravitational pull, they continued gathering without end. Countless bodies intertwined into an eerie Vortex, turning soundlessly as they converged bit by bit upon the desolate island in the sea.
Until they crawled ashore. One hollow walking corpse after another, wearing blissful smiles and singing merrily, converged involuntarily upon the Tower at the center.
Layer upon layer, they wriggled ceaselessly, climbing toward the very top of the Tower.
More walking corpses continually crawled up the Tower,
