Under the Curtain

Soundlessly.

That curtain, seeming to join sea and sky, silently unfurled—lofty and elusive, heavy as an iron wall yet light enough to dance with the wind.

Waiting quietly for the arrival of every visitor.

There was no earth-shattering loud explosion, not even a ripple to be seen. Pale mist blanketed everything, swallowing all.

Beyond the curtain, however, layer upon layer of raging waves gradually converged.

In the heavens, across the ocean, between sea and sky, the violent Black Tide was everywhere. Countless Sea Locusts rose and fell, gathered, mated, and fought, battling over dead fish and rotting flesh on the sea surface as they sang at the top of their voices.

Yet it was still not enough. An even sweeter scent wafted from the deepest part of the mist.

More food!

Amid the convergence of massive amounts of pheromones, the endless locusts in the sea gradually became savage, ravenous, and frenzied. From the dead fish floating on the sea surface, from the dense black mass, vast numbers of Sea Locusts suddenly soared into the air and howled toward Luo Island.

They could no longer endure it.

In mid-air, enormous numbers of Sea Locusts gathered together, winding forward like rivers. Dozens of torrents stretched without end, rising and falling as they rushed into the mist.

Finally...

Outside the scene, the eyes of who knew how many hidden watchers lit up as they laughed soundlessly.

But before long, their smiles froze on their faces.

Behind the curtain, there was still silence.

It was as though nothing had happened. Nothing could be seen, nothing could be heard, and the mist had not changed in the slightest. Generous and accommodating, it welcomed every visitor.

There was absolutely no movement at all!
