Background
Lou Feng was raised by Lu Ma alongside her other adopted children after being taken in from the streets. He later served in the military, retired to work in auto repair, and remained fiercely protective of Lu Ma and his younger sister, Lu Ling. 2 6 41 344
He is also a member of the influential Chao City Lou Clan, a major Haizhou family renowned for its Spirit Essence Shaping inheritance. As a clan member, he began formal training under Kong Qingyan at seventeen, developing unusually solid fundamentals as an Embers Artisan. 55 57
Kong Qingyan pushed him to look beyond the status and protection attached to the Lou Family name. Her criticism of his comfort and hesitation ultimately led him to join Tong Shan's investigation team bound for Quancheng, choosing to pursue his own future as an Artisan. 190 196
Appearance
Lou Feng initially presents himself as an impeccably equipped young master, contrasting sharply with Ji Jue's impoverished appearance. Prolonged work on King of Flies projects later leaves him exhausted, unshaven, and visibly neglected. 56 842
- Wears gold-rimmed clear-lens glasses, jewelry, a wristwatch, and other Spirit Essence-infused equipment. 56
- Favours handmade, high-quality clothing when not working in the field. 268
- Uses a briefcase to carry compressed Spirit Essence “shells” and combat resources. 559
- Developed dark circles, pallor, weight loss, and a dishevelled appearance while overworking on split-soul research. 842
Personality
Lou Feng is proud, competitive, and deeply conscious of the gap between his inherited advantages and Ji Jue's rapid progress. He initially treats Ji Jue as an opponent to be studied and surpassed, but repeated defeats force him to confront his own limitations. 190 290 557
His cultivated poise readily collapses into sharp sarcasm and Federation-style profanity when provoked—especially by Ji Jue. Despite this, he is conscientious in technical work, quick to recognize quality regardless of personal resentment, and willing to invest heavily when a project has genuine potential. 256 562 749
Ye Zhi assessed Lu Feng from a distance as suffering from severe obsessive-compulsive tendencies, paranoia, mysophobia, post-traumatic stress, anxiety, interpersonal sensitivity, and self-destructive tendencies; she advised Tong Hua not to interfere in his life. 175
Abilities & Skills
Spirit Essence Shaping
Lou Feng inherits the Lou Clan's defining ability: freely shaping his Spirit Essence between solid, liquid, and gaseous states. Its flexibility lets him create weapons, defenses, constructs, and specialized alchemical effects. 56
- Forms surprise attacks and defensive shields from shaped Spirit Essence. 56
- Creates armed Spirit Essence constructs and combat beasts. 56 88
- Extracts Spirit Essence from Mutated Creatures to forge Spirit Essence Crystals. 267
- Imbues ammunition with Spirit Essence to greatly increase its lethality. 208
- Uses the Lou Clan's shared Spirit Essence connection to supply allies with power during large-scale operations. 733
Celestial Origin and Good Craft
Using a specialized Celestial Origin application enhanced by Good Craft, Lou Feng can manipulate gravity and rapidly construct complex Spirit Essence Circuits. 56
- Pulls targets toward himself through localized gravity manipulation. 56
- Applies gravity shackles that can disrupt an opponent's movement ability. 57
- Uses Good Craft to maximize alchemical and circuit-construction speed. 56
Dragon Scale Armor
Lou Feng can shape Spirit Essence into the Lou Clan Secret Tradition, Dragon Scale Armor: a full-body, metallic-looking armor with powerful defensive properties. 57
- Completely encases him in bronze-like Spirit Essence armor. 57
- Was described as a technique ordinarily available only to Chosen Ones of Rebirth Rank, making its use in his early duel controversial. 57
- Can absorb surrounding Spiritual Substance and expand during a final defensive escalation. 560
Spirit Body Outer Armor
Lou Feng implanted and fused external Spirit Essence structures into his soul, creating parasitic spirit bodies that function as extra limbs and weapons. 560
- Deploys thirteen spirit limbs for piercing, chopping, explosive, and erosive attacks. 560
- Can sacrifice the spirit bodies and colossi to concentrate his remaining power into a final attack. 560
- The technique carries the risk inherent in forcibly mutating his own soul. 560
Han Guang Sword
The Lou Clan's Han Guang Sword is a highly refined Spirit Essence weapon whose near-void nature makes it difficult to perceive and suppress. 560
- Attacks the soul rather than relying solely on physical damage. 560
- Was used as Lou Feng's final weapon during his duel with Ji Jue. 560
- Was ultimately broken by Ji Jue's Dragon Mountain transformation. 560
Alchemy and Engineering
Lou Feng is a capable Embers Artisan with particular strengths in Spirit Essence handling, high-precision shaping, and turning theoretical designs into functional products. 191 749
- Processes contaminated equipment at a speed eventually comparable to Ji Jue's. 191
- Teaches Ji Jue Fluid Alchemy in exchange for Gaseous Alchemy, Ascension Grease, and a Foundation of Equilibrium. 563
- Uses Matrix: Shangong and Mirroring: Star of Bethlehem for microscopic-scale precision work and stable Spirit Essence control. 749
- Completed the initial practical form of Juque by integrating Dragon Blood, Juque, and Three-Phase Alchemy. 749
- Created a wristwatch capable of displaying a Chosen One's rank and Fiendification Index; later iterations could store Spiritual Substance and issue warnings. 667 668
External Control Module
Lou Feng developed an External Control Module for the King of Flies project, allowing users to connect with their souls and remotely operate creations carrying the Spirit of the King of Flies. 843
- Demonstrated control of machines and an exoskeleton through a test subject. 843
- Identified individual compatibility, signal translation, and accumulated user data as the project’s main technical barriers. 844
- Completed and implemented an improved module with Ji Jue within a week. 847

Story Role / Major Arcs
Early rivalry with Ji Jue
Lou Feng first meets Ji Jue as Kong Qingyan's apprentice and accepts a student duel to measure the difference between them. He employs Spirit Essence Shaping, Celestial Origin, Time Sand, and Dragon Scale Armor, but Ji Jue's unorthodox methods defeat him and expose the limits of relying on inherited advantages. 55 57 87 90
Quancheng investigation and artisan examination
After Kong Qingyan challenges his complacency, Lou Feng joins Tong Shan's team for the Quancheng investigation. He supports the expedition as a versatile Embers Artisan, builds a locator for Lou Yanyue, and later demonstrates his inherited techniques in the Myriad Transformations Tower by extracting a Mutated Creature's Essence into a crystal. 196 197 228 267
He formally enters the artisan ranks alongside Ji Jue, though he continues to struggle with Ji Jue's superior reputation and rapid advancement. 308 557
King of Flies partnership
Ji Jue invites Lou Feng to join King of Flies as a partner. Distrustful of Ji Jue's patents, motives, and control over the project, Lou Feng stakes his independence and future on a duel; after exhausting his Spirit Body Outer Armor, colossi, Dragon Scale Armor, and Han Guang Sword, he admits defeat. 557 560
Bound by the subsequent Workshop Joint Agreement, he becomes King of Flies' principal technical partner. His Artisan instincts overcome his resentment once he sees the Type I Riot Guard Cat's industrial potential, and he contributes capital, Lou Clan resources, Fluid Alchemy, Three-Phase Alchemy, and engineering expertise. 562 563
Sundial and Three-Phase development
Lou Feng co-develops the Sundial wristwatch series, helping create devices that monitor rank, Fiendification Index, and Spiritual Substance reserves. He also aggressively secures patent authorizations for the project, working across the Federation, Empire, and Thousand Isles without sleep for three days. 667 669 674
His growing role in the Three-Phase Lineage leads Ji Jue to rely on him as both engineer and successor. When Ji Jue is incapacitated after the Haizhou Tech Expo, Lou Feng receives instructions to assume responsibility if Ji Jue can no longer continue. 749 963
Conflict with the Xu Family
After learning of the Xu Family's suspected role in his brother's suffering and its possible ties to the Evil Transformation Cult, Lou Feng commits the Lou Family's resources to Ji Jue's wider campaign. He later publicly confronts Xu Lingwei, forces the Xu Family into a compensation agreement, and gains notoriety for his aggressive conduct. 722 965 967
External Control Module
Lou Feng pushes himself into physical exhaustion while researching split souls and producing the External Control Module. The prototype becomes a key King of Flies development, enabling users to control compatible machinery and exoskeletons through the Spirit of the King of Flies. 842 844 847
