"Cough, cough. Oh dear, how did you fall over?"
Ji Jue reached out and set the Corgi, who had been acting cute, back upright. Ignoring its shocked stare, he regretfully withdrew his hand and gave a polite smile. "Where do you work, colleague?"
"Maintenance worker."
Doberman's electronic voice interrupted them, reminding the Corgi, "You, arrived."
Ding~
The elevator opened.
At once, the Corgi that had still been rubbing against Ji Jue's trouser leg seemed to sigh. Utterly reluctant, it walked out of the elevator, then looked back at Ji Jue one last time with wet, mournful eyes.
A silent accusation, so full of resentment.
Ji Jue gritted his teeth and looked away, not daring to look any longer.
He was afraid he really would not be able to restrain his hands.
And when they reached the floor of the central dispatch room, Ji Jue finally felt the bustling clamor. Dogs came and went, and the place was exceptionally lively.
He just did not know why everyone kept deliberately or casually edging closer to him. Whenever they passed, the tips of their tails swept back and forth, accidentally brushing the back of Ji Jue's hand, sometimes even giving it a little scratch.
Whenever they glanced back at him, they flirted with their eyes right in front of Doberman.
By the end, they did not even bother pretending anymore. A whole pack of dogs gathered around him, scrambling to rub themselves against him.
Ji Jue's expression grew increasingly awkward and stiff. After finally failing to restrain himself and giving the sleek, glossy Golden Retriever a good rub, he put on an act and cried out, "Oh dear, I bumped into you by accident. Excuse me, may I ask who this is...?"
"Security." Doberman answered coldly.
"Oh, oh, I see. No wonder you
