Like all unexpected troubles, bad news always came out of nowhere.
Like realizing after locking the door that you had forgotten your keys and left the gas on; like discovering half a cockroach's ass on your plate after finishing a meal; like opening your eyes to find your pet had diarrhea at the head of your bed when it seemed you had eaten chocolate in your dream...
Sometimes, a teammate suddenly lost it and pulled the wire, blowing himself up along with you. There was nothing much you could do in a situation like that.
When people were speechless beyond all measure, they simply could not say anything.
Except this time was different from before. It was possible they would never be able to speak again for the rest of their lives.
Just as Kong Yebai picked up the walkie-talkie and cried out, "High Priest, something's wrong!" everyone heard, amid their ragged breaths and pounding hearts, a faint, almost imperceptible ticking...
It came from within his rapidly heaving chest.
When his bewildered teammates instinctively reached out and tore open his collar, they finally saw the black stitching that even Kong Yebai himself had failed to notice.
The man at the front widened his eyes the instant he understood. "You—"
BOOM!!!
And so, with the last half of a curse from his life unfinished, he closed his eyes forever.
Flames and shockwaves spread outward. Vast amounts of pulverized explosives and aberrant poison swept through everything like a tsunami. Crimson dancing surged like a tide, engulfing every inch of space.
Scalding blood rain burst forth like fireworks, rising and falling as it merged into the savage heatwave. Amid the thunderous loud explosion, severed limbs flew up to the ceiling, out the
