Before long, the piercing horn sound rang out once again.
The sound of collapse came from within the city. The colossal creature rose from the billowing smoke and dust, spreading its grotesque scaled wings to blot out the sky.
Its roar shook heaven and earth.
The first to waver were, surprisingly, the Angel legions still fighting desperately nearby. Their formations faltered as they began fleeing in all directions.
"The Nether River Dragon..."
"Have they gone mad?!"
"We're still here! Why hasn't the central hub sent any signal at all?!"
"Kong Sai!!!"
Within the boiling river of lava, chains loosened one by one as the Angels released them. The giant dragon, covered in mummies and twisted faces, rose from the blazing flames, opened its jaws, and pounced upon whoever it could devour.
It made no distinction between Angels and demons.
Only pure hunger and greed remained in those eyes, indulging in a ravenous feast.
The demons' offensive came to an abrupt halt.
It was too huge, and it recovered far too quickly. Even the spears that plundered Divine Power could not inflict any fatal damage in a short time. Worse still, the instant they touched its skin, its hungry flesh would bite down on them, making escape impossible and turning them into part of the mummies hanging from its body.
