After lying around for a full week, Lou Da Shao finally returned, utterly unwilling, dragging his feet and wearing a long face. After pointing at Ji Jue and performing thirty minutes of Federation oral calisthenics, he ultimately pinched his nose, shut his eyes, and signed his name on the Workshop Joint Agreement.
As if he were signing a deed of sale.
It had taken who knew how much resolve.
Once he finished signing, he closed his eyes and did not even want to look at it.
His whole life was over!
The instant he signed, Ji Jue beamed and put away the agreement, then sent it through the Star Core Association to await approval. In truth, though, it was merely a formality.
If no one interfered, there naturally would not be any surprises. But if someone did interfere... then they would have to have a proper talk with Ji Jue, who had been cultivating his temper for quite some time.
Besides, even the agreement was only one part of the process.
Given Lou Da Shao's personality and thick skin, there was no way he would refuse to acknowledge something he had signed.
A man's word was his bond. A loss was a loss. No matter how bizarre or harsh the agreement's terms might be, honoring one's bet was fundamental.
For the five-year term of the agreement, he would act in step with Ji Jue. In all matters within the Association, they would advance and retreat together. At the same time, as the junior partner in this alliance, he would follow Ji Jue's decisions and carry out plans approved by both sides.
From then on, he became the number-two figure in the still-nonexistent "Ji Jue Faction," as well as the direct supplier of resources for the King of Flies development project
