Secretly Infiltrating the Investigator
The Great Swarm Path lay in sacrifice and war!
Of the two, "sacrifice" even came before "war."
Compared to wild, reckless hacking and slashing, the Inheritance Sacrifice was the supreme essence of the Great Swarm. Yet its nature was not to make people worship gods and pray to Buddha. Rather... it was meant to let people shirk responsibility!
The Great Swarm folks hacked, slashed, and killed. Pay them, and they would kill—without asking whom. Anyone could figure out that such brutal conduct would bring endless karmic consequences and sin.
Without even the slightest safeguard, they would lose their minds and fall into Mad Slaughter in no time.
Wars in this world were endless. Among them, how many righteous wars truly sought to set chaos right, purge corrupt rulers, and restore order to a dynasty?
Even "as rare as phoenix feathers and qilin horns" would be overstating it.
Thus came the Inheritance Sacrifice and the Sacrificial Master. Through "sacrifice," "offering," and "cost," they instilled a thread of rules and restraint into unrestrained violence. And after offerings and sacrifices were made, the Sacrificial Master could, in effect, bear the Sin Corruption and evil consequences for the inheritor.
Otherwise, the Great Swarm and Mad Slaughter would not merely be wearing the same pair of pants—they would likely have merged into one long ago.
The true essence of the Great Swarm—necessary violence, struggles to sustain survival, campaigns to set chaos right, heroic efforts to restore the realm—how many people could truly achieve such things with ease? It was enough to just talk about them.
That was why something was needed to foot the bill for all the evil consequences and calamities wrought by the Great Swarm.
In the vast majority of cases, it was Celestial Origin.
