In a corner of Rift World, beneath a broken wall, the Homecoming Knights had assembled once more.
After taking attendance, a trace of emotion emerged on the bearded man Slan's face. He had not expected such an unfavorable start—having only just entered Rift World, they had already suffered casualties, while everyone else had sustained injuries to varying degrees.
They had not fallen straight out of mid-air like Ji Jue's group, but some had landed directly in monster nests, while others had taken two steps only to be buried beneath collapsing buildings, then crawled out covered in dust.
Fortunately, they had not landed far apart. Relying on the resonance between their Matrices, they easily wiped out several crocodile-like monsters lurking in the mud pits before regrouping.
They remained on alert, keeping Lou Feng protected at the center.
The instant Rift World underwent its mutation, the experienced Slan had immediately tackled his employer. The two had remained together upon arrival, and now merely looked a little dusty.
Unlike certain unlucky bastards who had been hunted the moment they landed, Lou Feng had ample time to analyze their surroundings. Fortunately, the instruments stored in the space opened by the Eternal Gate had not been damaged during the crossing.
"No. The Spiritual Substance frequencies are a complete mess. There are no traces of Superior Virtue to be found, and the stability index is below the safety threshold." Lou Feng looked away from the display of his handheld device. "But judging by the data, Rift World still overlaps with the present world. As long as we find an opportunity to open the gate again, we can leave this place."
"So we establish a secure foothold first?" Slan understood. "Later, I'll send people to
