Ch. 627Ripples Begin, Tidal Wave Rises

A blood-rain natural disaster overwhelmed the frontline base as monsters and a hidden wolf attacked, leaving Liang Mo and the Workshop crew fighting to survive. Yan Fei killed the flute-playing attacker with Yan Chang’s help, then a mysterious figure resembling Miss Isis appeared and rescued him.

  • A blood-red Natural Disaster struck the frontline base, and berserk sharks and other monsters breached its defenses while Liang Mo tried to organize a response.
  • The Workshop was besieged by aberrants, and Yan Chang sensed that a wolf was exploiting the chaos from within the base.
  • Yan Chang located the flute player, and Yan Fei charged out in his powered armor while Tang Qian and Yan Chang defended the Workshop.
  • Yan Chang disrupted the flute player long enough for Yan Fei to reach him, and Yan Fei destroyed his armor in an explosion before killing him with a mercury bullet.
  • As giant worms swarmed Yan Fei, phantom threads erased the aberrants and dragged him back into the Workshop.
  • A starlike figure appeared and identified Yan Fei as 0012, and Yan Fei recognized the figure as Miss Isis.

Ch. 628Flowers and Dreams, Trees and Wolves

Isis used Ji Jue’s birthday gifts to advance into the Summoning Rank and transformed the monsters attacking the Workshop into a sea of white flowers, then helped drive off a calamity beast. After Ji Jue returned, they repaired the Workshop and watched the Federation and Empire encircle the Giant Tree and trap the Forest Kingdom and the wolf within.

  • Isis opened Ji Jue’s birthday gift and used its three blessings to cross into the Summoning Rank.
  • Isis turned the attacking monsters into white flowers, then used the Crown of Isis to overwhelm the giant serpent until it fled; a passing figure killed it and burned the wolves inside the base.
  • Ji Jue returned to the Workshop, where Isis teased him about his absence and showed him embarrassing recordings; they discussed her transformation and her dream.
  • Ji Jue and Isis repaired the Workshop while fighting continued around the Giant Tree, and the Federation and Empire sealed Shangri-La inside a Formless cage.

Ch. 629What distinguishes man from beasts is but a small thing?

Ji Jue recognized that the Federation and Empire might have helped engineer White State’s catastrophe, while the Forest Kingdom’s promise of strength through killing drew Chosen Ones into slaughter. As blood fed the Giant Tree, a corpse began to stir, and Xie Heli reflected on how little separated people from beasts.

  • Tong Shan told Ji Jue that the Forest Kingdom resisted powerful Chosen Ones and that their first assault had achieved no result.
  • Ji Jue suspected the Federation and Empire had used the frontline base as a decoy and had allowed Xie Heli and Blood Thirst Syndrome to devastate White State.
  • An Neng told Ji Jue that killing enemies in the Forest Kingdom increased a Chosen One’s strength, prompting Wild Bazaar’s White Deer to rush inside.
  • Ji Jue saw Chosen Ones gathering eagerly to kill and grow stronger as the Forest Kingdom spread and its slaughter continued.
  • Blood from the fighting flowed into the Giant Tree, causing a desiccated corpse to twitch and its heart to beat.
  • Xie Heli watched the corpse stir and mocked how people had failed to understand the small difference between man and beast.

Ch. 630Watching the Fire from the Other Side, Receiving the Mandate in Peril (Thanks to Fatty Xu for the Alliance Leader)

Ji Jue agreed to join the Security Bureau’s dangerous advance team into the Forest Kingdom, then followed Lin Shouyi’s advice to use the mission to negotiate compensation through the Taiyi Ring. The chapter left Ji Jue newly appointed as the Taiyi Ring Association’s representative and preparing to collect a massive payment.

  • Ji Jue bought The Horde’s Alchemical Creations, cleansed a bracelet of its resentment, and told him it could be sold next door for 4.91 million Federal Currency.
  • Ji Jue reflected on Isis’s growth as a Matrix Holy Relic and the dangers surrounding the Forest Kingdom as the arriving Chosen Ones fueled the third Wolf Fiend.
  • Lin Shouyi visited Ji Jue and asked him to serve as an Artisan on the Security Bureau’s dangerous advance team into the Forest Kingdom.
  • Ji Jue accepted the mission and asked for increased compensation, prompting Lin Shouyi to advise him to negotiate through the Taiyi Ring instead.
  • Ji Jue contacted Lü Yingyue, and after negotiations with Gustav’s secretary and the Association, he became the Taiyi Ring Association’s representative and prepared to collect his payment.

Ch. 631Better to Return Home Early

Ji Jue stripped the Federation Garrison Base’s warehouse of raw materials, then joined Tong Shan’s advance team as they headed into the Forest Kingdom. Once inside, Ji Jue felt unexpectedly at home and sensed that a new bud representing him had sprouted on the Giant Tree.

  • Ji Jue took rare raw materials from the Federation Garrison Base to cover much of Isis’s upgrade and maintenance costs, while leaving its Masterworks untouched.
  • The Federation assembled six vanguard teams, and Ji Jue joined Tong Shan’s team with An Ning as their guide.
  • Tong Shan explained that his team would scout the route while Supervisor Xu’s convoy sought a temporary base and Supervisor Jin’s team guarded the flanks.
  • Tong Shan promised the team could keep anything they found after inspection, and Ji Jue offered equipment services, supplies, and appraisals in exchange for their protection.
  • The convoy entered the Forest Kingdom, where Ji Jue felt unusually comfortable and sensed his Wolf Blood Thorns answering the Giant Tree’s resonance with the wolves.
  • Ji Jue realized a new bud representing him had appeared on the Giant Tree and feared he had become a local again.

Ch. 632White State, Oh White State, My Homeland!

Ji Jue’s convoy entered the Forest Kingdom and endured a Flood Calamity that Tong Shan’s Disaster Prevention Book adapted to counter. When Dramelian and the Fiendified Ones launched a beast-driven assault, Ji Jue’s convoy unleashed repeated autocannon barrages, leaving the attackers overwhelmed.

  • Ji Jue noticed that Shangri-La treated him as a local White State wolf and continued strengthening him, while An Ning warned the convoy that rain was coming as they entered the Forest Kingdom.
  • Ji Jue destroyed a living raindrop, and Tong Shan used the Disaster Prevention Book to repel the Flood Calamity and adapt his Realm of Encirclement to it.
  • Decayed Wind’s Fiendified One struggled to sustain the Flood Calamity, so Dramelian howled to summon mutated creatures and drive them toward the convoy.
  • An Ning identified the threat as a Heart Wolf, and Ji Jue ordered Tong Shan to keep defending while the convoy’s autocannons shredded the attacking creatures.
  • Dramelian mistook a pause in firing for exhausted ammunition and led the Fiendified Ones into an attack, but Ji Jue’s convoy replaced its overheated autocannons and resumed firing.

Ch. 633Good People Live Peacefully

Ji Jue’s convoy wiped out the attacking Forest Kingdom forces, while Tong Shan trapped the Flood Calamity and Ji Jue absorbed the battle’s rewards. After the fight, Ji Jue resisted a lingering wolfish urge to prey on An Ning, and she seemed pleased by his attention.

  • The convoy’s firepower killed the Waste Ruins Fiendified One, but the White State wolf pack and Mutated Creatures broke through into close combat.
  • Garedly attacked Ji Jue’s armored vehicle and was crushed inside its mechanical maw, while Dramelian lunged at Tong Shan and was killed by a hidden Hunting Finger Flying Light.
  • With the wolf leaders dead, the pack fell into chaos, Tong Shan restrained the Flood Calamity, and Najara was consumed by the living water.
  • The Zhanlu Spirit Essence absorbed the escaping water, and Ji Jue gained heightened perception while Chun Jun shattered the wolfish hunger that had turned his attention toward An Ning.
  • Ji Jue walked toward the battlefield after telling An Ning that wolves were harmful, and she smiled as she adjusted her collar.

Ch. 634Chapter 633

Ji Jue and the convoy continued their journey after he repaired the team’s equipment, but he uncovered a disguised wolf among them and helped capture it. The wolf sacrificed its soul before it could be questioned, and Ji Jue and Tong Shan concealed a troubling clue as the convoy pressed deeper into the Forest Kingdom.

  • An Ning followed Ji Jue during the battlefield cleanup, while Ji Jue harvested materials and resisted the Forest Kingdom’s influence.
  • Ji Jue appraised the spoils and rapidly repaired the Chosen Ones’ weapons and equipment inside the RV.
  • Ji Jue and An Ning suspected Waste Ruins, and Tong Shan helped trap the disguised wolf when it attacked and tried to escape.
  • Ji Xue and Ji Liu joined the fight, and Ji Jue immobilized the wolf with Bone Blade Mercy while the convoy members recovered from its howl.
  • The wolf sacrificed its soul under the Wolf Blood Oath before Ji Jue could question it, and An Ning explained the oath’s control over Heart Wolves.
  • Ji Jue found familiar food in the wolf’s stomach, exchanged a knowing glance with Tong Shan, and burned the evidence before the convoy continued onward.

Ch. 635Ill Tidings, Ill Tidings, and More Ill Tidings

As the Federation and Empire outposts advanced through the Forest Kingdom, their easy victories concealed the enemy’s scheme to hasten the Wolf of the Forest’s transformation. Ji Jue discovered that King Ciji had been invisibly following him, learned that a third wolf would be born within three days, and watched a crack tear open the sky.

  • Tong Shan’s advance team defeated another wolf attack, and Xu Shuang and Jin Wuyan saw the grisly aftermath as their convoys moved forward.
  • The Federation and Empire established outposts and cleared threats, while the Forest Kingdom sent expendable Blood Thirst Syndrome patients to die in attacks that accelerated the Wolf of the Forest’s development.
  • Ji Jue sensed an unexplained disturbance in the workshop and concluded that an unseen force in the Forest Kingdom was affecting him.
  • King Ciji revealed himself to Ji Jue, explained that Ji Jue’s connection to Shangri-La had drawn him out, and warned that the third wolf would be born within three days.
  • A fissure split the sky, shattered the Giant Tree’s shelter, and unleashed a storm that swallowed everything.

Ch. 636Beast, Beast, and Beast

Ji Jue and his companions fled as the Federation and Empire launched their attack, but a resonance with Shangri-La revealed the Wolf of the Forest’s looming Metamorphosis and the danger posed by Mountain Wolf and Heart Wolf. After a devastating blast transformed people across the outpost into wolves, Ji Jue and Tong Shan prepared to fight the monsters closing in.

  • Tong Shan ordered the camp to abandon nonessential supplies and withdraw as the Federation and Empire attacked the Forest Kingdom.
  • Ji Jue was pulled into Shangri-La’s illusion, where he saw the unfinished Wolf of the Forest beneath two red suns and a pale moon.
  • Ji Jue used the Disintegration Art to clear corruption from An Ning after she warned that Mountain Wolf and Heart Wolf were behind the attack.
  • A massive explosion destroyed the outpost; Little Cow and Horse survived the shockwave, while Tong Shan survived with severe burns and Ji Liu and Ji Xue were unconscious.
  • Jin Wuyan emerged above the wreckage as people transformed into wolves, and Ciji explained that the seeds of the Wolf of the Heart had taken root in their hearts.
  • Ji Jue and Tong Shan faced the approaching wolves, and Ji Jue burned the first attacker to ash as Zhanlu unleashed purple lightning.

Ch. 637The Mantis Stalks the Cicada, Unaware of the Oriole Behind

Ji Jue unleashed the Thunder Pool to destroy sixty-two monsters as Tong Shan killed Jin Wuyan with a long-prepared ambush, acting on Lü Yingyue’s advice to reshape the prison he lived in. Meanwhile, a mistaken attack killed Shi Shan, and Heart Wolf killed Pasarela, leaving a new Calamity forming in the Forest Kingdom.

  • Ji Jue and Isis locked onto sixty-two targets, and Ji Jue used the Thunder Pool to burn them all to ashes.
  • Jin Wuyan attacked Tong Shan, but Tong Shan’s Wielding Brush cut his throat and Ink Color erased his body and soul.
  • Tong Shan recalled Lü Yingyue’s lesson about Celestial Origin, White Deer, and equality, and understood that he had chosen to remove those he could no longer tolerate.
  • Celestial Origin gained the upper hand against the Forest Kingdom, but Heart Wolf misdirected the White Deer Hunter’s attack so Bitter Day Phantom Light and Sun-Reflecting Arrow struck Shi Shan instead.
  • Shi Shan’s death unleashed a flood of blood and corpses that began to form a Calamity across the Forest Kingdom.
  • Heart Wolf took the combined attacks head-on, then broke Pasarela in its jaws and killed him.

Ch. 638When Disaster Struck, Everyone Went Their Own Way

After Pasarela and Shi Shan died, the Corpse Wolf’s awakening made the third Wolf Fiend’s birth inevitable and plunged White State into chaos. Xu Shuang split up the survivors, while Ji Jue disguised his group as members of the Evil Transformation Cult and led them toward the Red Federation as a three-eyed pursuer ordered wolf packs to hunt them.

  • The Mountain Wolf killed Pasarela, and the deaths of Pasarela and Shi Shan triggered a surge of power that hastened the third Wolf Fiend’s Metamorphosis.
  • The Corpse Wolf opened its eyes, turned the Forest Kingdom into an evil domain, and drove Wolf Blood Oath citizens and sufferers of Blood Thirst Syndrome into madness.
  • Xu Shuang healed Tong Shan, then sent the Security Bureau survivors along separate routes while she drew attention toward the frontline base.
  • Ji Jue and Tong Shan escaped by river in Little Cow and Horse, but Tong Shan’s map detected someone trying to track them.
  • Ji Jue disguised the group as members of Turning Wheel’s Inner Array under the Fountainhead, and they traveled toward the Red Federation.
  • A three-eyed pursuer emerged from the destroyed outpost, identified Ji Jue and his companions, and ordered Grudy to send nearby wolf packs after them.

Ch. 639Enlightenment

Ji Jue encountered Inayat, the wolf known as Inverse Scale, and suppressed the Wolf Blood Oath long enough for him to escape. Inayat revealed that the White State’s looming collapse could complete the Sacrificial King’s long-laid plan, and Ji Jue left with a notebook entrusted to him while the Forest Kingdom’s destruction advanced.

  • Ji Jue chose to skirt the Forest Kingdom and travel toward the Red Federation, but his group found a village where every wolf had recently been killed.
  • A frenzied wolf attacked Ji Jue, then stopped short when it recognized him; Ji Jue and An Ning identified the attacker as Inayat, also known as Inverse Scale.
  • Inayat explained his ties to Ji Jue’s factory and Elder Longge, and Ji Jue used Chun Jun and his own Wolf Blood Oath to suppress the Wolf Fiend contamination in Inayat’s soul.
  • Inayat warned Ji Jue that the White State’s people were nearing widespread Blood Thirst Syndrome and that the Sacrificial King had deliberately made the White State’s corruption a threat to force the Empires and Federations to preserve it.
  • Ji Jue realized the Sacrificial King had used his death and the White State’s peril to keep the country alive, while the spreading Giant Tree and infected crowds showed that destruction had finally arrived.
  • Inayat left Ji Jue a notebook about the children he had raised, then drew the surrounding wolves away as bait; Ji Jue kept the notebook and continued toward the Red Federation.

Ch. 640Hometown Folks Meet Hometown Folks

Ji Jue and his companions fought through the Forest Kingdom’s attacks, then faced Tao Chen, a Deepdark Artisan who had prepared a trap for them. After Ji Jue struck back, Tao Chen revealed his history with Ji Jue’s teacher, Ye Xian, and Ji Jue mocked him.

  • Ji Jue killed a child Living Corpse as he and his companions continued through waves of corpses beneath Shangri-La’s Giant Tree.
  • An Ning sensed danger, and Ji Jue discovered their map was distorted as Little Cow and Horse reversed away from Tao Chen’s trap and a pack of Transformed Wolves.

Ch. 641Divine Weapons and Implements, Victorious Treasures

Ji Jue and his allies fought Tao Chen inside his sealed Realm of Encirclement, where Tao Chen sought the Ye Family’s Legacy and Ye Xian’s Spirit Essence Refinement. Ji Jue joined with Isis to become the Matrix Holy Relic he called the Isis Spine Sword, and Isis prepared a vast counterattack against Tao Chen.

  • Tao Chen unleashed his Masterwork and revived aberrant souls to attack Ji Jue’s group, while Tong Shan warned them about hidden enemies and fought through the assault.

Ch. 642Quantity Against Quantity, The Tyrant's Creation

Ji Jue and Isis fought Tao Chen while the Tyrant’s scepter summoned Disordered Objects to attack Tong Shan and An Ning. Ji Jue chose to focus on suppressing Tao Chen, leaving his allies to face the monsters as an unseen enemy watched Tong Shan.

  • Tao Chen discovered that Ji Jue’s new alchemy methods and vast number of simultaneous refinements overcame his preparations, and he used an ancient mirror to destroy half the Chun Jun swords.
  • Ji Jue noticed Tao Chen continuously feeding spirit essence into his scepter, then a monstrous bird appeared and its cry dazed him.
  • Isis blocked the bird’s attack on Ji Jue and took full control, while Ji Jue refused to divert their strength from their assault on Tao Chen.
  • Tong Shan and An Ning faced Guhuo, the Stitch-Faced Tax Collector, and the Water Ape as the scepter drew power from White State’s accumulated deaths and resentment.
  • Tong Shan realized an unseen enemy was watching him and that the attackers had treated him as the group’s weak point, so he reached out.

Ch. 643Hunter and Prey

Tong Shan endured the Water Ape, the Stitch-Faced Tax Collector, and multiple wolf attackers while An Ning and Dragon Mountain Armor fought Guhuo and the Cave Horn Hunter. As Tong Shan held the battlefield together, the Cave Horn Wolf redirected its Blood Moon Arrow toward Ji Jue.

  • Tong Shan seized the Water Ape and fought off the Stitch-Faced Tax Collector, using his jade pendant to undo the stolen Spiritual Substance and then crushing the collector’s saw.
  • An Ning ordered Dragon Mountain Armor to attack Guhuo, which it repeatedly crushed and devoured along with the infants clinging to it.

  • Ji Jue killed Tao Chen with Pan Ying and the Disintegration Art, but Wolf of the Heart awakened inside Tao Chen’s remains.
  • Wolf of the Heart tried to claim Ji Jue as its host, and Ji Jue seized it and drove Pan Ying into its face.

Ch. 645The Hunt and the Promise

Ji Jue saved An Ning from becoming a wolf, and she marked him as her prey before falling asleep. As the survivors escaped the Forest Kingdom, Ji Jue discovered the world beyond was burning too, while Rebirth Wolf awoke behind them.

  • An Ning struck down the Wolf of the Heart, but its corruption began to consume her, so Ji Jue used Plunder to rip the wolf poison and oath from her soul.
  • An Ning attacked Ji Jue, then declared that she would protect him from other Hunters and kill him if he became a wolf; Ji Jue promised to wait for her.
  • An Ning bit Ji Jue's neck, leaving her name carved into his Metal Heart, then fell asleep in his arms.
