The scene shifted once more. He stood at the starting point of spacetime, where the Origin of Time and Space was slowly opening and expanding to its limit, the radiance of Source Matter like a pillar piercing the darkness.
The child was still holding the goddess's hand, gazing toward the Origin of Time and Space. Several gods stood there with them as well.
There was no Clockwork City here, nor anything else. They were the first gods to arrive.
And now, they were leaving Endless Spacetime from here, heading to the starting point of all spacetime.
"My life has already been brilliant enough! I've had family, teachers, and friends. I've witnessed the most beautiful things in life, experienced the most magnificent of eras, and even fallen into bottomless darkness!"
"My entire life! It's been filled with nothing but regrets!"
"I wasn't a good little sister, nor a student my teacher liked, much less a loyal friend. And now, I want to make up for my final regret!"
The goddess held the child's hand and lowered her head to speak to him, but the child stubbornly pressed his lips together. "But your life! It's only just begun!"
"Don't be like me! Always looking so far ahead, always caring about so-called pride and other superficial things!"
"Until the very end, it seemed as though I possessed everything! Yet it was even more like I had lost everything!"
Her pure, radiant fingers brushed across the child's face. Their warmth seemed to seep into his heart, and her eyes, like gems, shone against his childish features.
"Look at you! You really are so much like Him!"
"Both born gods, supreme existences!"
She crouched down, pressed her forehead against the child's, and closed her eyes. "The more supreme you are! The lonelier you become!"
"He
