Mei Terumi nodded quickly. Tsunade pursed her lips in slight displeasure, while the Third Hokage admired Chen Fan beyond measure. In just a few days, he had turned Mei Terumi into a little wife. What a terrifying man, in every sense of the word.
"I'll send reinforcements over as soon as possible," Tsunade said.
"Do as you like, but stay on guard. Konoha may be powerful now, but the taller a structure is built, the more likely it is to collapse outright if a wormhole appears," Chen Fan said.
Tsunade nodded. She knew who Chen Fan was referring to. After Chen Fan's bloody purge, Danzō had hidden himself even more deeply. No one in Konoha knew where he was hiding.
Soon, the two of them set out from Konoha and hurried toward the Hidden Sand Village.
"You're so good to every woman you have," Mei Terumi said to Chen Fan as they traveled.
"Am I? I just think it's what a man should do," Chen Fan said.
Mei Terumi blinked and looked at Chen Fan. "No matter how I look at you, you don't seem like a ninja."
A smile appeared at the corner of Chen Fan's lips. "I never said I was a ninja. A ninja's love may begin as nothing more than finding a reason to rely on each other, need each other, and live together. I have my own goals and reasons to survive. My love isn't a product of being needed—it's the fruit of building something together."
Chen Fan paused, then curled his lips slightly as he spoke to Mei Terumi. "I also like women who have missed their marriageable age!"
At the words "marriageable age," Mei Terumi's expression stiffened. But when she heard Chen Fan say that he liked them, she knew he was not
