"How was it, Zetsu? Is that guy dead? He actually took it head-on. He must have a death wish," Deidara asked.
But Zetsu did not answer. Pain frowned and asked, "What just happened, Zetsu?"
"Th-that... that meteor... was blown apart by the man called Chen Fan with one punch."
Everyone in the cave fell silent. They all felt as though they had misheard something. If they had not, then Zetsu must have misspoken. Just as they were thinking that, Zetsu repeated himself.
"That Chen Fan smashed that meteor with one punch!"
This time, everyone was shocked, even Pain.
"Was he seriously injured?"
"No. He does not seem to have suffered any injuries, but he seems to have exhausted a great deal of stamina and is resting now," Zetsu said.
Pain said, "While he is resting, hurry and complete the One-Tail's sealing. Zetsu, continue monitoring his movements." Everyone nodded and threw themselves fully into the sealing.
Just as Zetsu had said, Chen Fan was resting. That last move had exhausted him. With his calculating ability operating at full capacity, the strain on his brain had been considerable. Fortunately, he had still managed to shatter the meteor. Even if it had truly hit him, Chen Fan would have been fine, but Mei Terumi would have been in danger.
"How are you? You're not hurt, are you?" Mei Terumi came to Chen Fan's side, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and looked at him with concern.
"I'm fine. I've just overextended myself a little. Some rest will do," Chen Fan said with a smile.
"Should we wait for reinforcements?" Mei Terumi asked.
Chen Fan shook his head and waved a hand at Mei Terumi. "No need. I'll be fine after about three hours of rest. Cover me during that time."
