Jiraiya looked at Chen Fan in amazement. "That's incredible. Taking so many hits and still staying alive—that's the strongest move of all. I was seriously injured after just one hit and nearly died."
"But I'm truly grateful to you," Jiraiya suddenly said. He looked at the wine in his cup, swirled it, then drained it in one gulp.
Chen Fan was slightly taken aback, not knowing what Jiraiya meant by that.
"Since what happened back then, Tsunade hasn't had anyone she could rely on, and she wouldn't rely on anyone else either. That's why she left Konoha. But now, you've become someone she can depend on. So I'm truly grateful to you."
"Of course, there are many other things as well. You deserve great credit for the village's current development and prosperity," Jiraiya continued.
Hearing Jiraiya's words, Chen Fan understood what he had meant. Ever since Dan Katō and her younger brother had died, Tsunade could be said to have had no family left. But who could give Tsunade someone to lean on? Who could become someone she was willing to rely on?
Konoha was a major shinobi nation, and Jiraiya's sources were well informed. Naturally, he had learned about Chen Fan and Tsunade's relationship. Though he felt somewhat disappointed, he was also happy for Tsunade. He definitely could not be as magnanimous as Chen Fan.
Suddenly, Tsunade's voice rang out. "What are you two talking about?"
Hearing Tsunade's voice, Jiraiya turned around and looked at her. He was briefly stunned, then quickly shook his head and smiled. "Nothing. It's been nearly three years since we last met. You've become even more beautiful, Tsunade."
"I'm already over fifty. What's so beautiful about me? You, on the other hand, haven't changed at all." Tsunade smiled and sat down beside Chen Fan.
