Five of them walked down the street together. Since it was Saturday, a holiday, the streets were especially crowded with pedestrians, nearly all of them teenage students taking advantage of the rare day off to meet friends, shop, have fun, and go on dates.
But a handsome guy like Chen Fan accompanied by four girls was a rare sight. This was Academy City, after all. Compared to romance, the worship of espers came first here. Students who admired Misaka Mikoto and Shirai Kuroko could be found everywhere.
Of course, from every perspective, it was far too extravagant. The girls who saw Chen Fan on the street all thought he was a playboy, while the boys were filled with envy, jealousy, and resentment, their emotions complicated. Why wasn't Chen Fan's position theirs?

Uiharu Kasumi was a Level 1 low-level esper, while Saten Ruiko was an LV0 powerless person. Of course, powerless people made up the majority of Academy City, so that was nothing unusual.
Both of them had gossiping hearts. Compared to Shirai Kuroko's possessive personality toward Misaka Mikoto, they were far more curious about Chen Fan's relationship with Misaka Mikoto. They had never heard of Academy City's Level
