"How could it not have affected me? That's why I want to borrow your prestige now," Shokuhou Misaki said. She had quite a few enemies and had offended many people. There were also many who wanted to experiment on her. After all, every esper in Academy City was a tremendous treasure.
Chen Fan blinked. "Borrow my prestige?" He had no idea what Shokuhou Misaki meant by that.
"What happened during the Daihasei Festival was so huge that many higher-ups know about it. Although they don't know the details, they know you were the one who saved Academy City. Of course, they won't be grateful to you," Shokuhou Misaki said with a curl of her lips.
Chen Fan waved a hand, looking indifferent. "I don't need their gratitude."
"So I created the illusion that I have a close relationship with you. Without the [Exterior Brain], I naturally needed a safer safeguard. There seems to be nothing more reliable than you, a Level 6 Absolute Ability User. You don't mind, do you?" Shokuhou Misaki said, playfully sticking out her tongue. With her sparkling eyes, she looked incredibly adorable.
"I see. If it can help you, then that's good. If you really run into any trouble, I'll do everything I can to help you. It isn't just an illusion—we're friends too," Chen Fan said as he looked at Shokuhou Misaki.
Shokuhou Misaki smiled. "I'm glad to hear that. Having an Absolute Ability User as a friend really is nice. But there are way too many girls around you."
A faint smile appeared on Chen Fan's lips. "Are you jealous?"
