(Chapter 8: Gloom Over the Imperial Capital)
Hearing Leone's words, Chen Fan understood what kind of world he seemed to have arrived in. So that was it—he had come to a deeply corrupt country. Still, he would not be staying in this world for long. At most, he might only add to its chaos.
The atmosphere fell silent for a moment. Leone seemed to realize that, while drunk, she had said far too many inappropriate things.
"Sorry! I said so many unhappy things when we should have been happy about winning money!" Leone said to Chen Fan with her hands pressed together. He was clearly someone whose identity she did not even know, so why had she told him such things? She really had drunk too much.
Chen Fan smiled. "It's fine. I wasn't particularly happy about winning money either, but meeting you made me happy."
Leone felt much more at ease upon hearing that. "Come! Cheers!" She raised her wine glass, clinked it with Chen Fan's, and drained it in one gulp.
The two drank quite a bit. Chen Fan was somewhat dazed as well, but Leone was already completely unconscious. With the winnings in one hand and an arm around Leone's waist, Chen Fan headed toward an inn. After getting a room, the innkeeper gave Chen Fan an ambiguous look, then glanced at Leone. Chen Fan knew the guy was definitely thinking something filthy.
But it did not matter what others thought. Leaving a drunk girl outside would definitely be dangerous.
After placing Leone on the bed, Chen Fan lay down beside her and fell asleep as well. After an entire day, he was mentally exhausted.
Early the next morning, Chen Fan felt something heavy on his body. Opening his eyes, he saw that Leone had somehow climbed
