Terror filled the two men's faces as Chen Fan's cold voice rang out. "If you don't want to bleed to death, you'd better take me to the girl who was captured. Otherwise, do you want me to skin you alive, one cut at a time?"
The two men shuddered. The chill in Chen Fan's tone seemed to freeze their very souls. They knew he meant every word.
"Fine, we'll take you there," the two of them said through gritted teeth.
Chen Fan sheathed his blade, and neither man dared to run. They had not even seen how Chen Fan had struck earlier. They knew he could kill them in an instant. To keep themselves from bleeding to death, they clutched their severed wrists with one hand and walked in a certain direction. After a while, they came upon a building that looked like a warehouse.
The two men pointed at the building. "In there! The girl the young miss brought back last night is in there."
"Go over there. Open the door," Chen Fan ordered.
The two men looked miserable, but they still obeyed and opened the door. The moment it opened, a foul stench of rot wafted out. Chen Fan immediately activated Reflection, blocking out everything except oxygen.
When the door was fully opened, the sight before him stunned Chen Fan. Or rather, he could hardly believe what he was seeing. He had traveled through so many worlds and witnessed plenty of tragic scenes, yet at that moment, he felt woefully ignorant. Corpses hung from the beams one after another, suspended by ropes. Their bodies bore marks of abuse everywhere. Some were missing arms, others legs. A scene as cruel as hell on earth appeared before Chen Fan, and he could not accept it at all.
