(Chapter 30: Taking In Athena)
Athena's tone was calm. It was perfectly normal for a God Slayer and a god to fight to the death. Even gods fought one another over Authorities. She had only asked Chen Fan because he had not made a move for so long. Chen Fan had won this battle, and Athena had lost the ability to fight, so every decision was in Chen Fan's hands.
Upon hearing Athena's words, Chen Fan dispelled his state. After all, maintaining it consumed a great deal of energy. Then he began considering what to do about Athena. Logically speaking, he should get rid of her to prevent any future trouble, but it was truly bothersome.
Athena frowned at Chen Fan. "What are you hesitating for? Why don't you kill me?"
"You're taking this pretty well. But I'd have to kill a girl, and I've never been one to kill girls." Chen Fan smacked his lips. He was agonizing over it, yet Athena seemed entirely unfazed.
"A girl?" Athena had never expected Chen Fan to spare her over such a ridiculous reason.
"Alright, I've decided. Leave."
Athena's eyes widened as she stared at Chen Fan in surprise. "Are you serious?" She could not imagine that a God Slayer would let her go when he clearly had the chance to kill her.
"What do you mean, am I serious? They're just a few Authorities. I don't need yours. Just be careful not to run into someone else who'll kill you. I'm leaving." With that, Chen Fan turned and prepared to depart.
"Wait. What is your name?" Athena called after Chen Fan.
"Chen Fan."
"Chen Fan? I'll remember it." Athena nodded, clearly committing his name to memory. A powerful yet strange God Slayer.
