Looking at the gloomy weather around them, with flashes of lightning streaking across the horizon from time to time, Lucy tightened her grip on Happy's paw and said with a slight shiver, "Even at this point, I'm still a little scared."
"You dragged everyone else into this, and you've got the nerve to say that?" Gray said unhappily upon hearing Lucy complain only now.
He then turned to Chen Fan, but Chen Fan merely shrugged and spread his hands, indicating that there was nothing he could do. It wasn't as if he had insisted on coming along.
Gray turned to the boatman and said, "And you—why did you agree to put out to sea again?"
"My name is BoBo. I used to be a resident of that island, Garna Island. Later, I escaped from that cursed island. Disaster will befall you too. Going to that island means accepting this." As he spoke, he held out his hand and continued, "Can you really lift this curse? The demon's curse?"
"Ah...! Sir, your hand!" Gray and the others were startled and cried out involuntarily.
"Don't worry. We have the best doctor in the world here. He can solve any curse," Happy said, closing his eyes and waving a paw.
"Yeah, Chen Fan's an expert when it comes to healing." Gray and Lucy came to their senses as well, staring eagerly at Chen Fan as though the S-Class mission had already been completed.
Seeing everyone turn their eyes toward him, Chen Fan quickly shook his head. "No, I can't cure this. Curses and injuries aren't the same thing. Besides..."
BoBo hurriedly cut in, saying, "That's right. A curse is a curse. We've hired countless doctors, but it still hasn't been cured." His tone was somewhat hurried.
"Ah, is that so?"
"Then what do we do?" Lucy said at a loss.
Chen Fan hated being interrupted, especially by someone who clearly had ulterior motives. He shot BoBo a meaningful glance.
Seeing the look in Chen Fan's eyes, BoBo quickly turned his head away. Then he suddenly said, "I see it—it's Garna Island." Everyone's gaze focused on the distant island.
Suddenly, Lucy pointed at Garna Island and said, "What's that? The mountaintop is glowing." When she turned around, she rose to her feet in surprise. "Huh...? Where's the old man?"
"Did he fall overboard?" Gray hurriedly leaned over the side of the boat and looked down.
"He was gone by the time we noticed," Happy added from the side.
Chen Fan pointed at the sky and said blandly, "He ran away."
"He ran away?!" Gray, Lucy, and Happy stared at Chen Fan in shock and shouted. With no other choice, Chen Fan pointed behind them. When Gray and the others turned around, they saw a huge wave rushing toward them.
"Ah, a huge wave!" Lucy shouted.
"Hold on tight," Gray said. "Happy, fly the boat up."
"I can't do that!"
With a bang, the huge wave slammed Chen Fan and the others into the sea.
Chen Fan was naturally in the seawater as well, but a faint membrane surrounded him, so not even the corner of his clothes got wet.
Looking at Gray and the others, who had already passed out, Chen Fan thought helplessly, They really do love causing trouble. Two whirlpools appeared beneath his feet, and Chen Fan shot toward Natsu and the others.
A crashing sound rang out as a path split open across the sea. The seawater on both sides surged against it as though refusing to yield, yet it could not cross that boundary. Chen Fan walked toward the shore step by step, several figures floating quietly beside him—Natsu, Gray, and the others.
After settling them all down, Chen Fan sat on a large rock nearby, quietly watching them as he waited for them to wake up.
After sitting for a while, Chen Fan found it boring, so he took a walk along the shore to admire the scenery. After all, it had not been easy to get here. Unlike the sea around the island, the sunlight on the island was brilliantly bright. Coupled with the thick woods all around, it felt like a paradise apart from the world.
Walking on the soft sand and listening to the waves, Chen Fan felt his entire heart relax. A sense of exhilaration welled up within him, and the superpower that had made no progress for so long seemed to enter an even more refined realm.
Suddenly, Chen Fan heard someone calling his name. The voice was somewhat urgent. He did not need to think to know that Natsu and the others had awakened, so he quickly headed toward them.
