Thud. He hit the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.
A small, skinny figure rose from the dust and shouted, "Gray, let's go again! Oh... I'm all fired up!" With that, flames erupted all over his body as he charged toward the Fairy Tail guild.
Watching everything from behind, Makarov's smile vanished. His mouth hung wide open, and his eyes nearly popped out of their sockets. After a moment, he came back to his senses and shouted, "Someone, help! Someone's going to die!!"
Newcomer to the Guild
Chen Fan slowly opened his eyes and saw a man's face right in front of him. The man had his eyes closed, his lips puckered as he leaned closer. Still groggy, Chen Fan was startled and reflexively punched him in the face.
"Ah!"
"Ah!!" Two different cries rang out in quick succession.
One was Chen Fan shouting as his punch sent the man's face flying; the other was the scream of the man Chen Fan had just hit.
After throwing that punch, Chen Fan cautiously pulled up the blanket covering him, drawing it to his chest as he leaned back. His eyes brimmed with grievance, and there even seemed to be a trace of tears around them. He looked like a young girl who had just been molested.
At that moment, the person Chen Fan had punched spoke up. Judging from the voice, he was still a child. "Hey, I was saving you. How could you hit me? Ah..." His voice suddenly rose, as if he were questioning Chen Fan.
Only then did Chen Fan look around. He found that the room was full of people, all staring at him in stunned silence. Combined with what that person had said, it seemed he really had misunderstood.
But he did not say sorry. Those words had been absent from his life for far too long.
The people around him continued staring at Chen Fan until he began to feel embarrassed. Then Makarov spoke.
"Ahem, cough cough." Seeing that no one paid him any attention, he could not help feeling that he had lost face, so he raised his voice. "Ahem..." Only then did everyone come back to their senses and turn to look at Makarov, as though he had finally recovered his dignity.
Makarov said, "Well, Gray, don't say any more. If you hadn't hit Chen Fan, he wouldn't have passed out the moment he arrived at the guild."
Hearing Makarov's words, Chen Fan finally understood. So Gray was the one who had sent him flying. His remorseful lowered head instantly turned into a vicious glare at Gray, his eyes flashing with something called danger.
Gray was startled and immediately retorted, "It wasn't me. It was clearly that bastard Natsu who knocked him away."
"What? You're blaming me? You were obviously the one who attacked!" said a pink-haired little boy, clearly unhappy after hearing Gray's words.
"What did you say, you fire-breathing bastard? You want to fight, huh?" As he spoke, he took off his clothes.
"Bring it on, you exhibitionist with droopy eyes. You think I'm afraid of you?" he said to Gray provocatively.
"Ah, damn it." Realizing that he had unknowingly stripped himself naked, he quickly picked up his clothes from the ground. His face reddened slightly, but he still forced himself to hold firm and shouted at Natsu, "I told you not to call me an exhibitionist!" With that, he punched Natsu away, knocking over quite a bit of furniture.
"What, you bastard! You dare hit me? Oh... Fire Dragon's Roar."
"Get the hell out, both of you! If you want to fight, fight outside!" Makarov roared. His hands grew enormous as he grabbed Gray and Natsu like chicks and threw them out the window. Bang...! The sound of bodies hitting the ground followed.
It turned out that while everyone's attention had been focused on Natsu and Gray, Makarov once again felt his authority being trampled on. His eyes squeezed shut, and veins continuously bulged on his forehead.
But when Natsu was about to use Fire Dragon's Roar, Makarov finally could not take it any longer and threw both Natsu and Gray outside.
With the obstacles gone, Makarov turned to Chen Fan with a gentle smile on his face. Chen Fan could not help marveling at how quickly Makarov changed expressions. The old really were the shrewdest.
Makarov said, "Don't hold it against those two. See? I've already taught them a lesson for you."
Chen Fan also understood that he had most likely been collateral damage from their fight. But for Makarov's sake, he decided not to make an issue of it and nodded at him.
Seeing that Chen Fan was no longer dwelling on it, Makarov smiled happily and said, "Rest and recover properly. Once your injuries have healed, I'll introduce you to everyone."
Only when Makarov mentioned his injuries did Chen Fan notice that his right hand had been wrapped up like a rice dumpling. He waved his right hand back and forth.
