Fairy Tail: Vector Manipulation

A chorus of sharp intakes of breath rang out. What Chen Fan had said sounded casual enough, but those who understood the situation knew that his magic could save lives at critical moments.

Sensing that the atmosphere had grown a little strange, Chen Fan's eyes darted around. He planted one foot on a chair and the other on the table, looked over every member of the guild, and continued in a joking tone:

"Are you still troubled by your ample chest? Are you still worried about your less-than-perfect figure? Are you still agonizing over your looks?"

"Yes..." countless voices replied, and the guild went from silent to lively once more.

After a pause, he glanced at the men and women in the guild whose eyes were gleaming and said, "You no longer need to worry about such things. I can solve all of those problems for you, guaranteed with no side effects. Affordable prices—everything is negotiable."

"Hahaha..." Everyone was amused by Chen Fan's words, and the atmosphere became incredibly lively.

Some people even gave Chen Fan looks that suggested they could talk in private later. Chen Fan returned knowing looks, waggling his eyebrows in an exceedingly lewd manner.

Watching Chen Fan exchange flirtatious looks with the others made Natsu, who would one day be known as the Fire Dragon, feel a chill run down his body. He shuddered, wondering whether Chen Fan had some unusual hobby.

Soon after Chen Fan finished introducing himself, the guild members returned to their own business. Although Chen Fan had joined the guild, he was not yet familiar with everyone, and everyone in the guild had things to do.

Some people who had heard Chen Fan's words felt an itch in their hearts, but they were too embarrassed to say it outright here. They looked around at others while secretly watching Chen Fan from the corners of their eyes, wondering when they could find a chance to discuss it with him.

Chen Fan sat quietly beside Makarov. Though the guild was clearly bustling, he felt an indescribable sense of peace. Perhaps this was what home felt like, Chen Fan murmured to himself.

He scanned the hall repeatedly, but no matter how hard he looked, he could not find Erza. Had she gone out on a job? But how old was Erza? Glancing at Makarov beside him, Chen Fan thought, This old guy isn't abusing child labor, is he? His eyes flashed with contempt, making Makarov, who was still watching the lively guild, shiver. Makarov looked around, but Chen Fan had already turned his gaze elsewhere.

Suddenly, Chen Fan saw Natsu and Gray walking toward him, along with Mira and her two siblings. Chen Fan was a little puzzled. What did these kids want with him? Were they already starting to care about their looks at such a young age? Kids in this world sure matured early, Chen Fan sighed inwardly.

Natsu walked up to Chen Fan, pointed at his own chest with his right hand, and said, "My name is Natsu Dragneel. I use Dragon Slayer Magic."

Then he pointed at Gray and said, "This droopy-eyed guy—" Before he could finish, Gray reached out and cut him off.

Gray glared viciously into Natsu's eyes. "What did you say, you upturned-eyed freak? Huh...?"

"Looking for a fight, huh...? You exhibitionist."

"What? You dare call me an exhibitionist?" As he spoke, Gray grabbed Natsu by the clothes, looking ready to fight again.

"Both of you, quiet down."

Bang! Bang! Natsu and Gray were knocked to the floor.

Seeing Mira knock Natsu and Gray to the ground, Chen Fan finally remembered that Mira had been extremely violent as a child, no less so than Erza.

Mira then said flatly, "My name is Mirajane. These are my younger brother Elfman and younger sister Lisanna. As for that exhibitionist, his name is Gray Fullbuster. Welcome to Fairy Tail." Yet her flat tone did not make Chen Fan feel welcomed in the slightest.

Oddly enough, Gray did not jump up to object when Mira called him an exhibitionist. He had probably been beaten into submission by her.

"Thank you. I just arrived, so I'm still unfamiliar with everything. Please forgive me if I do anything wrong," Chen Fan said politely.

At that moment, Natsu and Gray also jumped up and solemnly promised Chen Fan, "Don't worry. If anyone bullies you from now on, tell us. We'll beat them up for you."

Elfman clenched a fist against his chest beside them. "A man should help the weak."

Chen Fan felt a little dizzy. Did he really look that weak? He asked Natsu and the others, "Do I look weak?"

They answered with unanimous nods. Mira's eyes clearly said, Weak man.

Chen Fan turned toward the youngest, Lisanna, only to find that even she was nodding along.

It seemed that being knocked unconscious by the aftermath of that fight the moment he arrived had branded him as weak in everyone's minds.
