"Captain, let's go together..."
Wild Wolf's expression turned cold. "Go together? What are you thinking? Are you trying to force the boss's hand?"
"You've been with the boss for over ten years. Don't you know what he's like?"
"It's settled. I'm going alone."
Hearing their captain, the others opened their mouths, then swallowed the words they'd been about to say.
It was an awful feeling.
The captain had said he'd go alone because he was worried the boss wouldn't agree. That way, if the boss got angry, he'd only blame the captain.
But the boss saw through everything so clearly. How could he not see what was going on?
Maybe Wild Wolf was determined to go alone precisely because he knew that.
The matter was settled. Everyone in the break room sat in silence, heads lowered.
The boss treated them well. It was because he treated them so well that they'd wanted to prove their worth at Candy Technology.

But facing the boss made them feel uneasy.
