Na Jie

Li Na wrote her name, "Li Na," on the blackboard with chalk. Then she turned around, put the chalk back in the box, and brushed the white chalk dust from her fingers.

Li Na said with a playful smile,

"My surname is Li, and my given name is Na. You can call me Teacher Li, but I'd much rather you call me Na Jie. It makes me sound younger."

"Hahaha!"

Everyone below the podium burst out laughing. Candy had no idea what was going on, but she caught the students' laughter and giggled along with them.

Li Na raised a hand to quiet them again. "For the next four years, I'll be with you as you make your way through college, and together we'll reach a new beginning. I believe that for everyone here, four years from now will be a new starting point in life, not the end."

"Okay, next, let me take attendance and make sure everyone's here." Li Na joked, "I hope no one's late to Na Jie's very first class meeting."

Her words drew another round of laughter from the students.

"Li Junman."

"Here."

"Yu Deyou."

"Here."

"Li Xuanyu."

"Here."

"Mo Jingchun."

"Here."

"Great. It looks like everyone was eager to meet me in person. Not a single person in the class was late."

"Next, let me introduce my two assistants, your senior students who'll be helping out as class representatives. During your first and second years, if you have any questions, you can ask me or either of them." Li Na nodded to Yang Wenzhao and Zhang Huizhen, inviting them to stand so everyone could meet them.

"Hello, everyone. I'm your senior, Yang Wenzhao. During your time in college, whether you have questions about daily life or your studies, you're welcome to come to me. If there's something I can't handle, I'll report it to Na Jie right away. Thank you."

Clap, clap, clap~

Under the desk, Mo Jingchun gave Yang Wenzhao a thumbs-up. Yang Wenzhao smiled smugly, but one word from Mo Jingchun soon made the smile on his face freeze.

"Sao!"

"I think you're insulting me."

"Am I? I was obviously complimenting you."

Zhang Huizhen showed off two cute dimples and said with a smile, "Hello, everyone. I'm your senior, Zhang Huizhen. Just like Senior Yang said, if you run into any problems, feel free to contact me anytime on QQ. Senior Yang's and my QQ accounts are both in the official group. When you add us, be sure to include a note with your name, or we might reject your friend request."

"Okay, thank you both. You can sit down now."

Li Na glanced at the students below the podium and thought for a moment. "Hmm... Let's start with the first row. Each of you will come up and introduce yourselves so everyone can get to know one another."

"Let's start with the student on the left."

With that, Li Na stepped down from the podium and walked to the doorway.

"Hello, everyone. My name is Zheng Jing... I hope we'll get along."

"All right. Next, I'm going to go over a few important things for the coming days. If you didn't bring a pen and paper, you'd better take notes on your phone."

Hardly anyone thought to bring paper and a pen to a class meeting. Mo Jingchun certainly hadn't.

Yang Wenzhao, sitting beside Mo Jingchun, muttered, "Na Jie hates it when students come to meetings without a pen and notebook to take notes."

As Mo Jingchun stared in astonishment, Yang Wenzhao pulled a black leather notebook from his back pocket and took a black gel pen from his front pocket.

His movements were smooth and effortless, as if it were second nature.

"The first thing is tuition. Each of you should have received a bank card along with your admission letter. During your four years here, this card will be just as important as your student ID. You'll use it to pay tuition, receive any scholarships you earn, and top up your student ID. The school handles all of those transactions through this bank card."

"So if you haven't activated your card yet, go to the bank and do it as soon as possible. Transfer your tuition into the account. Around the end of September, the school will arrange a mass withdrawal, so make sure there's more than enough money in the account to cover your fees. Otherwise, the payment will fail and cause a lot of trouble."

Li Na took a sip of water and watched the students' reactions. After a moment, she continued:

"The second thing is military training, which I know many of you are concerned about. You're in luck. This year, new students will train right here on campus, so you won't have to go to a training base." Li Na's gaze unconsciously shifted to Mo Jingchun in the back row.

"Also, during military training, students from this class will be split up and assigned to different platoons within our department. That means there may only be a dozen or so students from our class in each platoon. The class representatives and I will visit often during training. With that, Li Na took out a few blank sheets of A4 paper and handed one to each student in the first row.

"Pass these back from front to back. Everyone, write down your name, phone number, QQ number, and emergency contact's phone number, in that order, so I can reach you whenever I need to. Make sure you fill in the information correctly." What Li Na meant was that no one should deliberately give her false information.

After a long wait, the A4 sheet finally reached Mo Jingchun.

When he got to the emergency contact section, Mo Jingchun thought for a moment, then wrote down his eldest uncle's phone number.

A moment later, a hand reached over and took the sheet.

"All right, that's the end of today's class meeting. Go back and get some rest. If you haven't activated your bank card, remember to do it tomorrow. And don't forget that military training starts on the fifth."

After Li Na left the classroom, everyone got up and started heading out. Mo Jingchun hurried over to Deng Lanlan, the student holding his little sister. He'd made a point of remembering her name when she introduced herself.

"Deng Lanlan, thank you. Thank you so much."

"Huh? It's no problem. Is this your little sister? She's adorable."

"But I think she's wet herself." Deng Lanlan awkwardly handed Candy back to Mo Jingchun.

Mo Jingchun felt her clothes and knew Deng Lanlan was right. The little one had peed herself, and her diaper had borne more than it was meant to.
