"Cough, cough. Buddy, you're going too far."
"Your department has so many girls, and you don't flirt with any of them. Instead, you cross the Chu River and come after the girls in our Software Class."
"Fine, flirt with the girls in our Software Class if you want. But you're doing it right in front of all the guys in our class. Buddy, what's that supposed to mean?"
"Are you looking down on us? Or do you think the guys in our class can't even lift a knife anymore, huh?"
With every extra sentence Qiu Zhicheng said, Zhao Jianhong grew more embarrassed. Beads of sweat the size of peas appeared on his forehead.
Mo Jingchun and the other classmates, meanwhile, nodded silently in agreement, showing their support.
This guy had really gone too far. He was treating all thirty guys in the 21 Software Class like they were invisible, like they were just decorations. Who could put up with that?
Caught between a rock and a hard place, Zhao Jianhong stood there awkwardly, unsure what to do. He could especially hear his classmates laughing at his misfortune.
Red-faced Zhao Jianhong was now as conspicuous as a monkey's... well, you know.
Ding-a-ling-ling~
At the sound of the class bell, Zhao Jianhong deflated like a punctured balloon and hurried back to his seat without daring to raise his head.
Thank goodness. The bell had rung at just the right time. Otherwise, Zhao Jianhong wouldn't have known how to extricate himself from the situation.
At the same time, Zhao Jianhong let out a deep sigh, feeling somewhat dejected. Unless something unexpected happened, after today he would lose his priority mating rights—and might not find a girlfriend for all four years of college.
Just thinking about it made Zhao Jianhong feel what a tragic thing it was.
The girls, protected by all the guys in the class, were delighted. So this was what it felt like to be protected by someone! It was just too wonderful.
It was like their girls' alliance promising to look after adorable Candy. It was a kind of understanding, a silent understanding.
Nobody had asked for anything, and nobody had forced anything. Everyone had done it of their own accord.
"All right, everyone. Let's get back to class."
Professor Chen Xihe, who had enjoyed watching the show, seized the right moment to draw everyone's attention back to him.
As for Zhao Jianhong, how many people in the lecture hall even knew him, let alone knew his name? At most, his three roommates would tease him about it after they got back to the dorm.
"All right, everyone. That's it for today's class. Remember to study on your own when you get back. Those of you who already know C Language, this development language, should review it, too. Review the old to learn the new; go over it a few more times, and you might discover something different."
"Class dismissed."
When Professor Chen Xihe said class was dismissed, everyone's eyes turned toward the girl in the front row holding a little one. Even Zhao Jianhong was no exception.
"Stand!"
"Goodbye, teacher!"
Chen Xihe nodded to the students with his water cup in hand, gestured for everyone to sit down, then held his Thermos Cup in his right hand, clasped both hands behind his back, and left the classroom.
After stuffing his books into his backpack, Mo Jingchun grabbed his canvas bag and hurried toward the front row.
There was still one more class that morning, but it wasn't in this classroom. It was in the building next door.
That was just how university classes worked. Even if it was the same course, you weren't necessarily in the same classroom as last time.
Otherwise, if every class had its own dedicated classroom, even Jing University wouldn't have enough rooms for all the students.
"Yang Xiaoyu, I'll carry my little sister to the classroom in the building next door."
This time, Mo Jingchun said it decisively. Otherwise, his little sister, Candy, might get carried off again.
"Oh, finally, it's my turn! My little cutie!"
That wasn't Mo Jingchun speaking. It was Deng Lanlan, who pulled him aside in one swift motion.
Mo Jingchun had been pulled behind Deng Lanlan, and the stiff smile on his face froze completely.
Who am I? Where am I? What am I doing?
Oh, right. I'm Mo Jingchun. I'm in a classroom at Jing University, and I was just about to carry my little sister to the classroom in the building next door.
But... where's my adorable little Candy? Why isn't she in my arms?
After taking little Candy from Yang Xiaoyu, Deng Lanlan picked up the canvas bag from the completely unsuspecting Mo Jingchun and sauntered off without looking back.
Yang Xiaoyu spread her hands at Mo Jingchun and blinked innocently, putting on a cute face.
Coming back to his senses, Mo Jingchun gave Yang Xiaoyu a resentful look, like a little wife scorned, then hurried after them.
"Why are you looking at me? I've already saved seats for my roommates, and there aren't any left over there." Yang Xiaoyu pointed toward the third row. "Look, there are lots of seats farther back. If you don't hurry, you'll have to sit in the back."
Mo Jingchun hadn't even thrown his "punch" yet, and it already felt like he'd hit a pillow—so soft and powerless.
After finding a seat, Mo Jingchun instinctively ran a hand over the desk to check for dust. Luckily, it was clean. It looked like some class had used the room that morning.
Sitting there, questioning his whole existence, Mo Jingchun racked his brains but still couldn't figure out where the problem lay. Could it be that his little sister, Candy, had become so cute she was practically invincible?
Otherwise, why were all the girls in class fighting to look after the baby? Candy was well-behaved and didn't cry much, but looking after a child was hard work. Even just holding the little one while she slept was tiring. Candy weighed more than twenty pounds, after all.
Even holding sleeping Candy like that for just one class would make your arms ache.
After another short class, Mo Jingchun watched helplessly as a group of girls escorted Candy out of the classroom. Apparently, the little one had wet her pants again.
It wasn't until after class, sometime past eleven, that his little sister, Candy, finally returned to his arms.
Mo Jingchun sniffed and caught several new scents on his little sister, Candy.
For a moment, it felt as though ten thousand sheep had trampled across Mo Jingchun's chest. He swore they weren't the smell of perfume; they smelled more like the fragrance of those little scented sachets.
But they really did smell nice!
Mo Jingchun felt his face growing warm, as if he had a fever.
After packing everything up, Mo Jingchun carried his little sister, Candy, and practically ran out of the classroom. Candy, in his arms, was still biting into a huge red strawberry, its juice staining her tender little hand red.
"Why do I feel like Mo Jingchun's running for his life? What's he in such a hurry for?"
"Haha, silly girl, are you really asking when you already know? Don't think I didn't see who slipped that huge strawberry into Candy's little hand."
"You girls, too. There's plenty of time ahead. Why scare Mo Jingchun like this? You didn't let him hold Candy even once all morning."
Before you continue
