As soon as Candy said that, Zhou Xing's eyes lit up.
Mo Jingchun, standing off to the side, silently turned his head to look out the window.
That kid was probably going to get smacked when Zhou Yaling got back tomorrow.
He'd reminded Candy not to say anything careless while they were at home. It must've gone in one ear and out the other—she hadn't taken in a word.
Mo Jingchun wondered whether he should break up the fight when the time came, or stay out of it.
Poor Candy. Enjoy your laughter while you can. Tomorrow, you won't be laughing anymore.
"Candy, quick..."
"Tell your eldest uncle what's going on. Any little secrets?"
Little secrets? Candy looked at her excited eldest uncle and scratched her head. "There aren't any little secrets. It's just that Sister went off to the Magic City without saying a word. She couldn't have gone alone, could she?"
"If she went alone, she might as well have come on a trip with us the other day."
"That makes sense!" Zhou Xing said, happily slapping his thigh.
Mo Jingchun let out a quiet sigh. It wasn't that Zhou Yaling hadn't wanted to go on the trip with them! She knew she'd be a third wheel, so she'd chosen not to go for her brother's sake.
Unlike you, little one. You're the brightest third wheel on the whole street.
"When she gets back, I'll ask her about it."
"As her father, it's only fair that I check out the guy first, right?"
Mo Jingchun felt he couldn't let Candy and her eldest uncle keep speculating like this. His little sister had gone out with a female coworker—how awkward would it be if this got back to her?
With that thought, Mo Jingchun tugged at Candy's clothes
